Shoe Repair Resole Center is the online division of Corrective Shoe Repair, one of the Washington DC area's oldest and most trusted shoe repair shop. Our expert cobblers have worked on the shoes of people from all walks of life, from everyday workers to United States Presidents. The business was established in 1954 by my father Osvaldo Ramos who came into the United States in 1951 and was drafted by the U.S. Army into the Korean War.

I come to Corrective for all of my shoe repair needs. After years of working with other shoe repair outfits and other places like dry cleaners that outsource, I found the best quality and service here through word of mouth. I've had caps replaced, bags reinforced, soles replaced and boots refinished here and can't say enough about the quality of the work. They can take some time to complete the work, but I've also found that the owner is negotiable on timing and highly professional. Make this your next stop for shoe repair.

Initially, I went in to get repairs on two different shoes. With no set prices in sight. I was asked to make a deposit for the shoes. I ended up getting only one shoe repaired. I was not given a refund for the other shoe that wasn’t serviced. I was quoted one price and charged another. I definitely did not appreciate the random pricing and I was undoubtedly overcharged. In addition to being charged at random, they misplaced the shoe I decided I didn’t want repaired. Only to find out they went ahead and tried to repair it anyway. Frustrating experience! It's some fierce steps and is in a converted row house. But it has all the right smells of leather and glue. The reception area has some chairs and often today's Post. It has a laid back atmosphere. You can see the workshop and machines from the reception area. The work is good and they will sit down with and discuss any special problem. They can help you shoes fit better or modify them for and particular foot problem. They do normal repairs. Handbags, suitcases etc and modifications if possible. Consistently excellent. Best quality shoe repair I have ever had . Very skilled at solving unusual fit, comfort, repair or cleaning problems in high quality men's and women's shoes. No A/C on in the shop (Cuban workers prefer the heat to do their best job), but the Manager is knowledgeable (inherited the business from his father) and great to chat with (former body builder). The White House was a client for many years.
His staff of dedicated Cuban workers can repair shoes, belts, purses, brief cases, jackets and even driver mocassins!
If you wear expensive shoes, come here to have them place plastic cleats (no sounds) on the toes and heels of your brand-new leather soles. The workers will tell you after they finish if they think you have purchased a high quality shoe.

I was not satisfied with the work that was done. I would not bring any sneakers to be repaired here although the guy seemed nice and I received good customer service. I brought a pair of Nikes with a stain on them that was difficult to remove. I asked for the stain to be removed and a protective coating on the shoe. I was told that it would be hard to remove the stain but that they would try.

Very professional and thorough job was done on my Burberry flats which needed new soles and heels. I was very impressed by the reasonable price of the repair work and quality of work that was completed. They even polished the shoes which I have never done before which added an extra layer of protection and polish to the job. Would highly recommend!
