I have been a cobbler for 25 plus years altogether running a number of stores throughout the Metropolitan Washington Area - one in Vienna, VA, Rose Hill Shopping Center at Alexandria, VA and Marley Station Mall at Glen Burnie, MD. Arto's family has been in shoe repair business since 1971 at the Beltway Plaza mall and retired a few years ago.
Taking over the shop, I and my wife continued to serve the customers with very high expectations for our workmanship and attention to details since then. With the artistry of shoe repair fast fading away, our customers tell us how thankful they are that we are here and that our services are very needed again over again.

I walked in during opening time and had a pleasant experience. The shop owner was honest and applied leather conditioner to a pair of my shoes for free. When I asked him about an issue with my shoe, he was honest and expounded upon his knowledge of why it was best for him not to try to dye my shoe. I can appreciate integrity and will definitely stop here again if I ever want some shoe knowledge or shoe repairs.

So I been coming here for years. The first I came the guy educated for me about taking to much off the heel. Since then I took my shoes here and it been great until today. Brought in some shoes in and they refused saying they cant do only stilettos. Hence I came here with thick wide heels and they serviced with no problem. They just lost a customer

The business owner was very nice the first time I came there. However, when I wore the shoes that he repaired, they immediately came apart. When I brought them to the shop again, he stated that he hadn't repaired the part of the shoe that had come apart. I told him that I understood however, that the shoes were falling apart for a long time and so I was wondering why he didn't repair all of the shoe. Anyway he got hot and heavy very quickly and began to yell at me. I asked them not to yell at me (I was not irate at all, merely stating what I thought was a valid point). Anyway, he told

I just called today(12/05/2017) to ask about their warranty. I was rudely & hesitantly informed that they only guaranty their work for 30 days & none at all without receipt/ticket. I, of course don't have receipts from a year ago. No mention at all of warranty on website unless it's somewhere else I can't access but okay. It's perfectly fine to have a guarantee for 30 days or none at all, but please have the person answering the phone to be well mannered & speak clear English. I had 2 pairs of my Frye Melissa Button Boots that I initially brought in to have cleaned

Very disappointed with the results of my leather dress shoes. They warned me it was going to come out darker, but going from a beautiful dark brown to a red leather is not darker. And instead of fixing a scuff they used a spray to completely cover my shoe. A few months later the spray polish is coming off and I'm hoping they can be recovered. Be warned, I would only go there for a simple shine and polish. If it requires anything further, be prepared to be disappointed.

I recently suffered a tear in my favorite pair of boots, which must be at least 25 years old. I brought the ripped boot into Arto's shoe repair, and they were able to fix it and make it look like new again. It made me much happier than having to purchase a whole new paraboots for myself. Thank you very much for the expert, quick service!

This is a no-nonsense, get-the-job-done, reasonably-priced repair shop that I've taken at least 20 of my family's shoes and boots to. The staff is efficient and hard-working; they are not too nice, but I'm not sure that's important when you want your favorite oxfords or dress boots re-soled. Their prices are pretty reasonable, especially considering they are located in a mall (not that Beltway Plaza Mall is fancy or anything).
The cobblers here are fairly innovative- they've been able to repair leather tears in our footwear that have lasted for seasons; ditto with

My favourite shoes were broken recently, so I thought of giving a try for a repair prior choosing other options. I was completely amazed with the quality of work done on the shoe. I never expected that I would get the same feel and comfort by wearing my favourite shoes again. But I must say a Job very well done. Thank you

Place: Convenient with large parking lot outside.
Service: Great and consistent
Completion time: Keep your ticket after you leave the shoes at the shop. It's about 3-4days.
I have taken 4 pairs of boots to this place with fantasic results each time.
They have repaired the soles and heel tips of my shoes with the shoes looking very new upon return.
For boots heels, it's about $6 per shoe ($12 a pair). When I got a pair of shoes resoled, the total was a bit under $40 for a pair. The guy even asked me if I wanted rubber soles to have more traction when I walked! I didn't even know

I am extremely pleased with the work done on my shoes (a pair of flats and four pairs of boots). The prices were reasonable and my shoes were done on time dropped them off on Saturday afternoon picked them up Wednesday. I needed heels replaced and repaired on all my shoes and a zipper on one pair of boots. My shoes came back looking brand new! I would highly recommend this small business!!! I originally had 7 pairs I needed fixed but before I left my shoes they looked at them and were honest and told me the other two they could not save. I am glad they were honest instead of taking my money and

This is the only place I will go to get my shoes repaired. I have taken shoes to well-known cobblers in DC and they don't do as meticulous of a job and charge far more. For $11 they will reheel any style of shoe, and without asking will polish to a shine, repair snags on heels and any other cosmetic issue. When I wanted to get a pair of boots shortened and the zipper replaced, they were honest with me telling me it wouldn't be worth the money to cut the length of the boot shaft. I really appreciated such honesty, it's very rare these days.
