TS was founded by Lisa Villamaria Casia, a passionate music educator, actor, performer, and adjudicator in the NJ festivals and competitions.

As a Theater Steps graduate, there are many things that I have learned throughout my theater career that I apply in my current situations. I am very thankful for the discipline and work-ethic that was required to perform a piece to its absolute best. Because of this, I understand what it takes to excel in any field, not just performing on stage. And yet at the same time, I have made many memories and friends during my time at TS, faces that I won’t ever forget and I am always glad to see. My daughter has been with Ms. Lisa (Theater Steps) for more than 5 years. Prior to this, she had already been playing the piano but there was no style, articulation, technique and expression. As long as she could play the notes, she got to move on to the next piece. After a long search, a friend referred me to Ms. Lisa. Thru Ms. Lisa's guidance my daughter is now a vastly-improved pianist. Ms. Lisa's vibrant energy and nurturing character has helped my daughter enjoy learning and playing the piano.

Theater Steps is the best place to learn about how to get into the theater business. Lisa has first hand experience in performing nationally and internationally and brings this knowledge to all her students. They gave my niece the tools to be prepared for auditions with her repertoire. They also prepare students with headshots and demo reels to help with her college admissions. Best place to go if you are a serious performer.

My name is Fatima Velasco, I just recently graduated from the Theater Step program. I took voice lessons with Mrs. Lisa for a total for about 3 years, and quite honestly my life was completely changed. Since my first lesson Mrs. Lisa, with her exuberant and passionate presence, never failed to push me to be the best singer and performer I could be. I always loved to sing, taking voice lessons at other studios, however but I never felt my voice was stretched at its full potential. Mr.s Lisa is a knowledgeable, energetic and fun teacher who imparts good techniques and at the same time instills a lifelong appreciation of music.I highly recommend theater steps to everyone who has a desire to learn. My daughter has been with Mr.s Lisa since September of 2014 and Thanks to Mrs. Lisa my daughter recently got accepted to her first choice at Westminster choir college in Rider University.

My daughter has been taking piano and voice lessons with Miss Lisa for last 5 years now and we simply love her!! Miss Lisa and her team are full of energy and enthusiasm when it comes to teaching as well as while coordinating all performances and certification tests. My son developed the love for music in Theater Steps. Recitals and music festival participation is highly encouraged here. It teaches the children confidence and courage. The kids find them enjoyable too. We registered my son here so he can learn how to play the piano like some sort of hobby, not expecting much since he was not really interested in learning. That was over 3 years ago and we have stayed since. With my son playing beautiful pieces now and performing happily in his school and in our community, I'm in awe!
