Founder of the Ciechanowski Funeral Home since 1921 directly across the street from St. Joseph's Polish Church, the heart of Camden's Polish-American community. Together with his wife Priscilla and children Walter, Jean, and Daniel he lived above the funeral home. In 1947 he moved to Westmont. The Ciechanowski Funeral Home remained on 10th Street through 1996 under the direction of his son Daniel Ciechanowski and grandson John Ciechanowski.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of planning ahead has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
For centuries, funerals have helped us say goodbye. No matter what kind of funeral ceremony you are planning, it helps to understand the parts of a meaningful funeral. Each element serves a unique purpose and plays an important role. When you put the elements together, you create a ceremony deserving of the special life that was lived.
Receiving friends through a visitation activates your support system and allows others to express their concern and love for you. Having a visitation encourages you to openly and honestly mourn the death. Friends and family will remember you invited them and often stay more available to you in the months that follow the death.
Nothing can be more overwhelming than the death of a loved one. The ability to make informed choices can help you along this path. Bringing family and friends together to celebrate a cherished life is part of the healing process, and best served through a personalized ceremony and tribute.

When choosing cremation, it is important not only to capture the memories and celebrate the spirit of your loved one, but also to provide healing through gathering together, paying tribute, and celebrating a life well lived. Our primary mission is to ensure that this special, emotional, and necessary time for healing receives the utmost attention.
