My passion has always been for diamonds and jewelry even since I was a teenager working at the family pawn business. After high school I began working in retail jewelry. After 10 years I decided I'd rather buy jewelry, and do it better than other buyers, which led to the creation of Cook County Buyers Inc.
Cook County Buyers has a private selling office available in the Northbrook Executive Suites, located in Downtown Northbrook with convenient free parking. Please contact Mike to schedule a one on one appointment. Alternatively, an appointment can be set at a Starbucks or other public location of your choosing.
We are the only Chicago area jewelry buyer focused exclusively on acquiring the best designer jewelry from brands including David Yurman, Tiffany & Co., Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Rolex, and many more! Because of our desire to purchase the best designer jewelry items and entire jewelry collections, we will pay more than other buyers to obtain these pieces!
Diamonds that have a GIA certificate will be easier to sell because the diamond industry only trusts GIA laboratory. Any other lab certificate is a good starting point for a rough estimate of value, but needs to be examined in person to determine the true quality. The only really reputable and accurate certificate out there is GIA (Gemological Institute of America).

Most jewelry (like 99 percent) is NEVER going to be valued back at anywhere near what it was bought for. That needs to be understood when you attempt to go sell it back. And the jewelry industry, I recently learned, might be the most unethical of all the industries that are allowed to advertise on TV. But Mike makes the transaction as fair as can be expected in an industry where "buyer beware" should be the looping tagline. Cook county buyer's is the best place to go if you have to sell anything, Mike is very honest, understanding and professional person that I can't recommend him ENOUGH! I am a very sentimental person and I had the toughest "emotional transaction" ever, but the way he handled the situation by understanding and respecting me and my emotions I could have not left happier!!! He is unlike other places where you walk in and you feel like they are there to take advantage of you and whatever you are selling!!! I deal with Mike the owner every time. He offers very high prices on jewelry. He specializes in buying unique pieces especially if they are signed by the designer that made them. He has purchased many jewelry pieces from me. Cool thing is that you can send him a picture text of your item. He will send you back a quote. If the item is in good condition, he will buy it for cash money. He is the man for the cash. He loves spending him some cash. Don't bring him junky stuff tho.

We just sold a diamond ring to Mike at his Skokie office. We found him online the day before due to positive reviews and scheduled to see him the day after. Mike cleaned our current jewelry, gave a precise examination of the ring and diamond that we were looking to sell and gave us an offer that we were realistically looking to get. He gave us cash on the spot. Really simple! No pressure and very trustworthy! The other jewelry stores we brought it to prior didn't feel trustworthy and their offers were less. Great experience overall. Mike provides very professional and detailed services. He explains the buying process and performs his tests in front of you. I did not have that experience with any of the 6 other companies from whom I received quotes beforehand. And his prices for buying gold are higher and fair. I left feeling very positive and with no regrets. Safe and open process. Again cannot say that about any other companies. I will definitely use again and highly recommend.

I was honestly scared about having to sell any jewelry and had pretty much resigned to the idea that I was going to be murdered and put in the trunk of a car. And then I found Mike! He was very courteous, professional, and gave a very fair price. I never felt pressured or rushed and he took his time to explain each step of the process (measuring, verifying quality, blah blah blah). I also appreciate that he was willing to meet me in a public place where I felt safe and comfortable. Made what could be a difficult experience very pleasant! I brought some things of my mother's, who recently passed away for Mike to look at. I did not know value. Mike was able to give me the value quickly and honestly. He really knows his stuff! He has a long time background in the jewelry industry and felt he knew what he was talking about. He paid cash on the spot and gave me a more than fair value for my pieces. I walked out very happy! I would go back there again and highly recommend him, plus he has a great personality!

BUT he made me feel super comfortable, was a very cool guy and did all of the weighing and measuring right in front of me. He explained everything I needed to know, why my diamond was worth more or less based on different factors. I watched him look up the price in that giant catalog thing and walked out a very happy lady.
I like him a lot, and would absolutely sell to him again!
