Gary and Brad Wainer began a practice with the goal of providing primary medical care medicine for the whole family- from birth through the golden years. We began our life in a small office at the corner of 34th and Oak Park Ave. Our practice has expanded since that time to include six physicians who are all Board Certified within the fields of Family Medicine or Pediatrics.
Dr Gary Wainer, one of the founders of the practice, has since left the practice and is now working in an administrative capacity for MacNeal Hospital. As a National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Medical Home Certified Practice, we strongly believe that each patient should have a primary care doctor who cares for all ongoing medical problems.

Services
Dr. Wainer graduated from Midwestern University in 1983. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at MacNeal Hospital in 1986, where he was also the Chief Resident. He became Board Certified in by the American Board of Family Medicine 1986 and continues his recertification on a regular basis. He is also a board-certified in Addiction Medicine.
Dr. Michael Gershberg graduated from Northwestern University and earned his medical degree from University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed a residency in Family Medicine at St. Joseph Hospital where he served as chief resident, and joined Primary Care Associates in 2001. In addition to caring for his patients, Dr Gershberg enjoys precepting medical students from University of Chicago where he holds a post of clinical assistant professor.
Dr. Matthew Hsieh (pronounced "shay") joined Primary Care Associates in 2001 after completing his Family Medicine Residency at West Suburban Medical Center. Dr. Hsieh earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from Wheaton College and his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School.
Dr. Lori Weiss was originally from St. Louis, Missouri. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Washington University in 1979 and subsequently received her MD Degree from Northwestern University Medical School in 1985.
Dr. Weiss was a Pediatric Intern and Resident at The Children's Memorial Hospital (now called Lurie Children's Hospital) in Chicago from 1985-1988 and spent the following year as Chief Pediatric Resident at The Children's Memorial Hospital.She is an experienced pediatrician who has been practicing in the Western Suburbs since 1989.

Raza Useini has been working at Primary Care Associates since 2002. She had worked as a receptionist for 12 years, 4 years as our Assistant Manager and now manages the entire office. Raza prides herself on patient satisfaction and enjoys her daily interactions. Raza enjoys spending her free time with her husband and 3 boys.

Almost two years ago I had to find a new primary doctor after being a patient for almost 17 years. Mine who owned his own practice passed away. What a difficult task researching and trying to make a decision. After much thought my decision was Primary Care Associates and still a bit skeptical if they would ever be as good as my last doctor. What a great choice I made! My Dr (Dr Wainer) has been the best. I have found a doctor that listens, actually reads my charts, explains things well and is truly concerned about my well being. My primary care doctor is Dr. Hsieh. He is really good at what he does. You can tell that he loves what he does and it shows in his work based on how he treats his patients. He is really honest, kind, caring and does not make you feel misheard. I feel heard from him and I've had a hard time for some time finding a primary care doctor for that reason. Most doctors I had speed up their work or disregard what you are telling them. It's your body and no one else would know what goes in your body besides yourself. Dr. Hsieh, does take his time. Would highly recommend Dr Wainer and his staff. He has been our family physician for 20.years and always have given us the best of care. He takes the time to to do a proper diagnosis of any problem you are concerned with. Any doctors he has referred me to also has been excellent

Building a relationship with Dr. Destani felt so natural because he was so welcoming and you know he’s listening to you. His bedside manners make you feel so comfortable and his trust allows you to tell him anything and not be judged. I’ve been with him over 20 years now I think. He’s the best and I wouldn’t trade him for any other doctor!

I love going to see the Doctors at Primary Care in Berwyn especially my main doctor which is Dr Brad Wainer. He is sweet and explains everything to me. He has so much patience with me because I ask so many questions he never makes me feel like I’m bothering him!! Answers my questions on email at great timing and he calms me down when I am nervous about something he is great. I have been with this group for over 25years. Love them!! Dr Brad Wainer was so good with my 82 year old mother, patient, kind and knowledgeable, that my partner and I have also signed up as new patients. My mother had recently moved here and saw several doctors and none compared to Dr Wainer. She sees the Dr. each time, not an assistant, which my mom also prefers.

Dr. Destani is the smartest, most decent human. He listens to everything that is said before making an assessment.
He knows doctors who specialize when he refers you because he maintains relationships with them.
I trust him because he reads current medical literature and is up to date on all of it.

I don't understand why the owners of this business think that it's OK to allow people to do construction while there are patients inside....? When I do construction on a house, or when I'm working on a car, or if I'm working in a warehouse... I wear earplugs because I care about my ears and my hearing. I take care of my body. You have a disregard for your patient's as well as your staff for neglecting to provide ear plugs for heavy duty electrical power tool usage within an operational enclosed business.

My daughter has been seeing Dr Weiss for 6 years now. Being a mom of 3, my eldest being 18 y/o and my youngest is 8, This doctor is amazing!! Very thorough and on top of things. Your child will be beyond well cared for with Dr Weiss. If there is any slightest chance something may be wrong..she will get to the bottom of it to have it checked out.
Dr caught my daughters hashimotos (hypothyroidism) at the age 3. She has scanned and found food allergies at a young age. If any levels are elevated on lab results, she takes further steps to

I went to my follow up! So happy I have found Dr. Wainer and his staff. They also have an online portal, which I like, so he can upload, track and monitor my medical history and then we can discuss based on what he reads. Very professional staff and a nice location. I like that they schedule people with plenty of time so there are no long waits. I didn't feel rushed; I felt like Dr. Wainer really cared and spent the necessary time with me to really understand my complete medical history and current health status.

I took my daughter to see Dr. Lori Weiss after seeing good reviews for her online...All was going well until I dared say I wanted to refuse certain vaccines for ethical and moral reasons. Then she became condescending and spoke to me as if I was too incompetent to make a good decision for my 1 month old baby. Just another doctor using fear and false information to justify her practice of shooting up babies with heavy metals. (Read the vaccine ingredients before you argue with me on this.) This review is related to my experience with Dr. Lori Weiss as my son's pediatrician. You would be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable, comprehensive, or responsive physician for your child. I have nothing but the most wonderful things to say about Dr. Weiss. She recognized a significant issue with my son that was missed by every other doctor that he saw for the first 9 months of his life. I saw Dr. Brad Wainer yesterday for a nagging cough. Yep, pneumonia. This was my first visit - and before he got down to the nuts and bolts of my visit he asked me about my life, overall wellness, family. Really great bedside manner. I was immediately comfortable asking questions, and super sensitive about the questions I had.
I'd recommend him hands down. And I did, in fact. My husband is also sick and will be visiting today.
As for the office staff - they're not warm and friendly, like I have experienced at other offices. But I don't have any complaints!
