I have the greatest respect for Dr Varma. She provides an excellent diagnostic service and is very thorough and knowledgeable about treatment. You will likely work with a separate therapist after the initial diagnosis is complete. She believes in setting firm boundaries and is not afraid to deny requests for certain medications.
I find her to be extremely helpful and professional. I recommend her highly. She helped me a lot.

1 star is actually a zero star. I’ve contacted the medical board. Dr Varma clearly doesn’t have humanity in her mind that charges someone $500 to see your child. Knowing that she’s playing with someone’s mental instability. We cancelled the appointment after my son learning that many people have complained about being charged an incredible amount of money. And recharged weekly 500-1000 to be seen. I Disputed the charges. Only to have them overturned. Clearly she cares about money not people. And is a candy man doctor. Great. Thank you for destroying my sons hope in becoming better. Really

When I first met Dr Varma, she seemed to be compassionate. However, similar to another person who posted, once I questioned/criticized her billing practices, I was met with comments such as “ We also bill for non urgent emails per the financial policy.”. This was in reference to me questioning why I was being charged a fee to send another doctor medical records. Instead, she apparently thought it was more appropriate to discuss billing matters during a session. I always thought sessions were meant to discuss the patients well being. Clearly, she disagrees.

I was relieved to get an appointment so quickly with Dr Varma. It only took a week to get in and when I got there I met with Dr Varma almost immediately after only some basic paperwork. It was a very different experience than at a lot of other doctors offices I have been to. I like that she had a concrete plan for me to get better. I have been disappointed with other doctors who seem to only ask a few questions then throw a prescription at me and send me on my way. She wants to work with you to solve problems and not always with just more pills. I feel confident that I am in good hands.

Dr Varma sincerely cares about the health and well being of you personally. She will tell you what you need to hear even when you don’t want to hear it. She will tell you want you need to do or take (if anything) to feel better the healthiest way possible. Improvements will come if you listen and stay consistent with her recommendations. I highly recommend her for all mental Heath issues.

I've had a wonderful experience with Dr. Varma. She listens, she asks questions, and I felt taken seriously right away. I've been suffering from depression and anxiety for years and after a negative experience with Anxiety Treatment Center of Chicago, I was afraid I wasn't going to find help in the area.The positive reviews are correct! I highly recommend her.

I would highly recommend Dr. Varma to anyone seeking a psychiatrist. She was a life saver. My daughter needed help and she was able to see her in two weeks. Other places wanted us to come in 3 months! Who knows what would have happened if we waited that long. Dr. Varma is the most caring, funny and helpful doctor I have ever met. My daughter absolutely loves her and I just can't say enough about how great she is.
