My mistake for not calling ahead.
I pulled up to The Waxing Company at about 1250 in the afternoon.
There was a sign telling the public that they're open, but in the middle of the day, during advertised business hours, they were closed. Door locked and all. Called to see if maybe someone was around since I know some businesses lock up when tending to customers, but it was clear nobody was there. Lights were off. Its too bad, I really wanted to try them out.
Two stars because I can't give any review to their service

It's been almost 6 months since Hawaii shut down due to COVID-19, and it's been slightly longer since I last waxed my eyebrows! Since my son was getting his haircut nearby, I thought I'd Yelp a salon I could get my eyebrows done at and found this place. I was so excited for my brows to finally get some love that I forgot to even ask how much it would cost.
Let me start by saying that their place is so clean in spite of the construction mess just outside. The check in is digital so that's nice! And, the workers seem very friendly.

I’ve been going to The Waxing Company for the past five years and find that they have the most consistent service. I like their warm aloha spirit- I can go to any esthetician to get a service done.
My favorite service is the Brazilian waxing and brow waxing service. I think that they are the best waxing salon in Honolulu!

Called the salon on the first day they opened after the Covid 19 quarantine.
Was greeted by a friendly voice to make an appointment, I don't remember her name. When I got there she explained the services and took my temperature.
Jerel, was my cosmetologist for a waxing. Super friendly and professional.

WOW! Being from California where the Brazilians average at $60 I was a little surprised when I saw that they were $85 here but you know if it's that price they must be good right? 100001% yes! I came in the staff was so sweet and helpful and Ji-Hyun did my brazilian. She was so detail orientated and caring. The wax didn't hurt we had a conversation she made sure I looked puuuuurfect and it was over! I've been waxing since I was 16 and honestly I'd like to say this was my first waxing experience ever she was amazing!

No, I'm not talking about the Karate Kid (hmmmm....I wonder how many people will understand that reference; leave me a compliment if you do!). I'm talking about those patches of hair above your eyes that sometimes might need a little work/trimming done. After all, no one wants to be walking around with "one" eyebrow.

So wow, I've been going here for over a year now. I use to go to any female staff, but now no matter what, I go to Alexis. She always makes sure that I am pleased with the service and outcome. She has definitely made me love and enjoy threading!! It still "hurts" only because I am sensitive, but I love love love the end product! Thank you Alexis for your commitment to your loyal customers.

I was led to The Waxing Co. based on their great Yelp rating & personal recommendations by a few close friends/coworkers. Amazing staff, great location (at least for me) & clean, comfortable office! I've known the parking lot that they share with the rest of McCully Shopping Center to get pretty hectic; I avoided all of the craze by scheduling my appointment, first thing in the morning on a Tuesday.

Love this place. I've been going here for about 2 years now for my brazillians and I always leave happy!
There waiting room is super cute with water and iced tea served to you. It's really clean and they are always very polite and make you feel at ease. They have a whole menu of things to look at. It's really exciting to me when places are really organized and they SO ARE with their sercice menu haha.
Some of the staff has changed and not all the girls are as skilled as the others, I will say, but that's gonna be the case with every place. Some will have more experience

This was my first time coming here for brow + upper lip threading! Alisa was so sweet and friendly. I felt super comfortable with her. She was informative and precise with her work. I'm definitely coming back specifically because of her! The service was amazing. 10/10 recommend!
Their location is on the first floor of McCully shopping center! You can't miss it. There's also parking spots available when you arrive.

I have never trusted myself to pluck my own brows and have found it to be worth the extra cost to leave them in the hands of a professional for monthly shaping and cleaning. I've seen friends who have completely ruined their brows with over plucking and self waxing, and the hair never grows back! Yes, it's true, if you over pluck or wax, it can cause permanent damage and alter the natural shape of your brows.
I am thankful for having thick brows because I'll hopefully never have to worry about having Sharpie brows created with a pencil. One of my friends has hair missing on a part

This place is great! The atmosphere is amazing and the staff is wonderful. When you check in for your appointment you are immediately offered water or tea, drink the tea it's delicious. Then you are greeted by your waxing person and either put into a comfy room or a comfy chair. I go to the waxing co. for my eyebrows, underarms, upper legs, and Brazilian. They always talk to me while they wax which really helps to distract you from the pain. I go to Kaitlin for everything and I LOVE her, she's always really quick and she tries to keep the conversation going. I definitely recommend for you to go

Do not go to Tiffany! She ripped off my daughter's skin when waxing her brows! We usually go to Alisa and she is great. Unfortunately, Alisa was off, so my daughter had an appointment with Tiffany. My daughter said it hurt a and that Tiffany kept waxing the same area. So much that she took off some of her skin. The only upside to this was they comped the service. Was it worth it??? No. It would have been no stars except for that they comped the service.
Then I find out from the assistant manager that this person has had complaints before for the same thing happening!!! WTH!

Woohoo, indeed! It's how I feel every time I walk out of The Waxing Company. I no longer look like a caveman!

1. Service is quick and easy! Also the girls are always awesome and friendly. I don't see anyone in particular, but everyone I've had was always super nice.
2. Plenty parking (you know it's important).
3. Online booking. I personally find it easier to make a booking online than give someone a call. Maybe it's a millennial thing.
4. FYI/411 - They

So I have been trying to do korean eyebrows ever since I got back from visiting the motherland last year and plucking trimming and filling in with powder and they've been getting more and more uneven. Some days I'd look like angry birds and some days I'd look like bert from Sesame Street. Always my right eyebrow has been higher than my left but now I was having this permanent skeptical look to my expression with one eyebrow cocked up. My friend suggested I try threading so I finally decided enough was enough. I read

The quality of the estheticians has dramatically gone down. Sure some are still good.. while others were average... now I have stumpled on a BAD one and, well, vowing to never return.
I'm almost embarrassed to write this review, well, because, who wants to write about such an unpleasant and personal experience? But I should. This is a place I've highly recommended over the past 7 years, numerous referrals, #2 for checkins here, etc. Not anymore.

Appointment recommended although they will take walk-ins. For new clients, check in 15 minutes earlier to fill out a 5-page questionnaire. Basically to make sure your skin can tolerate the treatment.
The place is clean, well lit, and great touches like chandelier lighting in the treatment rooms. I was offered iced tea or water while waiting, which was totally welcomed.
Would I go back? Definitely!
