I bought an entry level trail bike online and having built and raced bikes in my youth, I knew assembly wouldn't be an issue. I was wrong. I built BMX bikes in my youth. Adjusting and fine tuning derailers was new to me. While I was able to get the bike together and ride it, I wanted it to be at optimal performance. I also wanted to change out pedals and tires for something a bit more trail worthy than what it came with. Constantly disappointed with this shop.. each time I need a part I try to support local and call or go there. Each time their customer service is some of the worst I've seen.. today I tried to give them another shot - called and was immediately yelled at on the phone, then was told I would get called back and never got a return call. Constantly disrespected by staff every time I go in there since I was a kid.

Ok so I'm picking up my two bikes for checkup. This is my go to spot for my bikes. So I'm waiting and a kid walks in and asks how much it would be to oil up his bike. Guy tells him don't worry no charge. Kids face lit up..... that tells you about this shop.

Puchased a 2021 Jamis 29" mountain bike from them in February and have totalled over 500 miles since and have been getting in better shape. Still going and getting stronger.
I've had a few accidents on the bike and they fixed it up every time. Quick and stellar service everytime.

Everyone who works is here is so kind and extremely knowledgable. I always appreciate when places under promise and over deliver. I was told it would be roughly a week and a half turnaround for my tune-up, which is fine considering most other places it's minimum 3 weeks and they charge double to triple the price. I got a call this morning my bike was ready and it's only been 6 days. When I visited the store it was neat, clean, tune ups were done visibly by the back entrance. Babylon Bike Shop is the only place I'll go to buy a bike. I've bought 3 different bikes from there (road, mountain, triathlon) over the years and love them all. The owners Mike and Doug are extremely helpful in finding the right bike for you. Their staff is also very knowledgeable and do a wonderful job with service, especially Nick. This is how a local business is supposed to be: warm, friendly, almost like family. 10/10 would recommend!

I’m not one who ever writes reviews but I think given these trying times and the specific impact on local bike shops a review makes sense. I’ve been a loyal customer to Babylon Bike Shop for 20+ years. I travel over 40 minutes from my house and pass many shops along the way. I’ve sent countless friends and family there as well. I was helping a friend shop for a bicycle, and this shop was recommended. We went in and met MikeAnd Doug. Turns out they are incredibly knowledgeable and extremely helpful.
My friend purchased a bike from them, and a few months later I bought one, both great deals.
Whatever I need, they have or will get, with kindness and courtesy.
Additionally, Mike is a bike fitter extraordinaire.

After purchasing a Peloton bike in July, me and the hubs went in for spin shoes with cleats that would work on Peloton. They were doing service outdoors under a tent in the parking lot d/t Covid. Service was prompt, the sales woman offered suggestions on which shoes to choose and applied the Delta cleats for us. We both chose Specialized brand shoes and are very happy. Later, we compared prices on Amazon and were not too disappointed. We didn't find them at a much lower price, so overall we are pleased with the Babylon Bike Shop.

Over the past few years I have purchased several adults bikes, a bike for my daughter and have had numerous bike repairs done by the team at Babylon Bike Shop. I couldn’t be more happy with the service, the professionalism and the friendly atmosphere I’ve experienced each time I am in the shop. Like everyone else during this time (covid) we are biking multiple times a day. My daughter's bike was clearly too small. But what do you do? We didn't want to browse a store - this was early April, full blown pandemic. We called the shop, explained our need, and they sent us pictures. She picked her 4 favorites and we let them know. We went to the shop and they had the bikes under the tent outside for her to try. She got a great bike, bell, and basket. Now she flying around loving the freedom the bike gives her during all of this!

My friend and I stopped in yesterday durning our bike ride to get our bikes checked out. They weren't able to do it on the spot and since our bikes were 5+ years old we decided to take a look around. We fell in love with one in particular. What a difference from our $150+ bikes. The ride was completely different and so much better. The color and size we needed had to be assembled. They did us a huge favor and built them on the spot in 2 hours. Which was very nice since we needed to ride back to our cars in another town. The owner and women ( wife? ) who helped us were very kind and patient

Okay so I got stranded today in babylon on my way to sayville from the LIRR. I had my bike with me but was giving me resistance to ride and my breaks didn't work. I planned on stopping in sayville bike shop because I know they're reliable but I got stranded in Babylon. Instead I had to stop in this shop quick to see if I could get help with my breaks because it's a long dangerous ride from babylon to sayville especially without breaks. I dropped off a bike last month to have 2 tires replaced. After returning 3 times, on dates they told me, it still wasn't ready. I just called and said I'll be picking it up today - fixed or not - at which I was asked what bike it is.
Summer is halfway over now and I was looking forward to spending the few warm months New York has riding on the weekends. I've patronized this shop multiple times since moving here, but might have to check out another store that's actually a little closer to my home in another town.

What a rip off... went there to get a tube and tire... guy looked at it.. i said the least expensive option being its just a beach bike..he said 35$ i said fine... ill be back in 30 min. I get back and the owner said 56$ i said your guy told me 35$.. he said well you need a tube and 10$ labor... i said no one ever said that. He yells back to the repair dept to be more clear next time on pricing... and charges me 56$... i would never go back. I own a buisiness and when we make a mistake we make good on our original word no matter what. I couldeve bought a whole new beach bike for 125$ anywhere

Was there one week ago. not a single customer but myself was in the store. sales person just starred at me... and waited for me to walk over to him, for me to greet him? he made no eye contact and continually looked in other directions away from me as if i was a bore. i guess my request for a $700. road bike was not worth his attention.
so, i went and bought my cannondale synapse @ sayville cycle. whom were freindly and a pleasure to work with. just fyi.

These guys are two for two in my book!
First I took my bike in to have a flat tire repaired. I was out the door in less than 15 minutes and the fee was under $20.
This morning we took my girlfriend's bike in because the computer wasn't showing the speed. Turned out the magnet was off by a half inch. They adjusted it. No charge!
Great people. Convenient location. Reasonable prices.
Nice selection of bikes, accessories, & clothing. (Not quite as good as The Bicycle Planet over in Syosset because it's about half the size.)
Bike mechanics are friendly and knowledgeable.

This place is the BEST. I was in dire need of a repair while riding in the Ride to Montauk from Manhattan this weekend, and they came through for me. Owner Doug told me exactly what needed repairing, gave me a great price on my replacement part and even checked my brakes for me before I left. And in just a few minutes! I really can't tell you how thankful I am, because I didn't have to end the ride at the Babylon Train Station. I highly recommend this bike shop to anyone in the area. You're in great hands here!
