Dr. Shemer is perhaps one of the most trusted professionals I have known in any discipline. I include other veterinarians, doctors, attorneys, mechanics, and financial advisors, in this assessment.
Dr. Shemer has clearly communicated, thoroughly tested and with great experience, advised direction for our dogs health. This has included two, life-saving incidents. One, a mysterious infection and the other, an urgent surgery. We have followed Dr. Shemer from his former veterinary hospital and drive past many veterinarians to see him.

When my previous vet retired, I a friend recommended Dr. Shemer. I used to travel to North Windham Vet to bring my dogs to him and couldn't have been happier when he came to Tolland Veterinary Hospital! I highly recommend him if you want a vet that will take great care of your pet whether it's surgery or daily care.

Everyone was amazing and kind. The techs, the people on the phone and the vet herself were all so wonderful and helpful. I have a german shepherd mix that has had an awful experience with a previous vet and he gets nervous. They kept his anxiety (and my anxiety) calm. The prices are fair and they were on time.

Recently we brought our two kittens to Tolland Veterinary Hospital to be neutered. Dr. Shemer did their surgeries. He's the best veterinarian in the field. We followed him from North Windham Animal Hospital. He… is kind soul full of personality but above all is quite talented. He has a great demeanor. Dr.Shemer is extremely talented and the staff at Tolland Vet is very friendly and helpful. I had a great experience there with my cat for a potentially life-saving operation on short notice. Plus, their prices are VERY reasonable and they don't treat you like a number - they are welcoming and they go the extra mile to explain everything so that you understand what is being done and why its being done. Definitely recommended!

Nobody does it better! I've followed Laura and Pat and staff around from practice to practice for more than 25 years and wouldn't trust my dogs to anyone else. We usually have 2-3 dogs, all rescues which often results in undetected illnesses/injuries. Their diagnostic abilities are exemplary and they succeed where others have failed miserably, i.e., another vet said my dog had a stomach virus when in actuality, he was having seizures!
Convenient location right off of 84. There's no reason to go anywhere else to get your pets the very best care available.

We have been with TVH for more than 20 years. Starting with the previous owner the current doctors have carried on the tradition of excellent care and comfort for the patients as well as the owners. I cant think of any service provider from any field that I feel as comfortable and confident with. It is obvious that the good people of TVH are doing this because they love animals.

We and many friends have used Tolland Vet for years. We love each vet there. Each is excellent. The other day I had to have my mom's cat euthanized. Dr. Kucia was the doctor who we saw on a weekend. Although I had never met her, she was excellent and so very compassionate, as everyone there is. They were kind, gentle,sensitive,knowledgeable (which she shared the details with me so I would know what to expect since I wanted to remain with the cat), and went above and beyond. TVH has been a friendly,caring place to take our pets over the the years.We have had three dogs over the years,and they have been our place to go when they get sick.
When you walk in the door,you know they care.Our dog Scamper kidneys are starting to fail.As anyone knows who has a had a pet with terminal illness,it is devastating news.
TVH and all their staff have been great,and Dr.Dugan has been doing everything she can to give Scamper the best care he can get.
We know they care when we bring him in ,and we appreciate that.
