Camp Netimus
Camp Netimus, a residential summer camp for girls, located in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, is home to 145 sleep away campers and more than 80 staff members who come from across the United States and from countries around the world. Our summer camp for Girls was founded in 1930 and continues to provide an exciting and enriching summer camp experience for girls ages 7-16.

Campers can enjoy a variety of over 40 activities such as horseback riding, swimming, rock climbing, hiking, boating, canoeing, sailing, mountain biking, tennis, photography, and crafts to name a few. Camp Netimus has been a sleep-away camp for girls since 1930, and has helped thousands of girls have the summer camp experience of their life.
Services
Camp Netimus for Girls was founded by the Moore family of Philadelphia and named after an 18th century Delaware Indian chief. Netimus opened in 1930 with 16 campers and included among its facilities the lodge, four cabins, the "bingee" (the shared bathroom in the cabin grove), and one tennis court.
Tabitha "Tabz" Taber: Long before becoming a director at camp, Tabz was a Netimus camper at the age of seven and has attended camp every summer since; serving as counselor, canoeing and swimming specialist, CPR/First Aid instructor, Senior Program Coordinator, and Day Camp Coordinator. Donna Kistler: Donna's camping experience started at age 10.
A brother/sister camp is actually two separate camps which come together from time to time for joint activities. Shohola and Netimus are both single sex camps, which have operated as brother and sister camps for over 60 years. The camps are 14 miles apart.

As parents, educators and former campers ourselves, we strongly believe that separate camps for boys and girls are wonderful places for children to express themselves and develop self assurance. Our camps encourage campers to celebrate their childhood without the pressures of a co-ed setting. Both Netimus for Girls and Shohola for Boys have an added bonus in that we offer opportunities, formal and informal, for campers to get together.
The "Green" Department at Camp Netimus emphasizes all things relating to healthy living, care for the environment and learning to live responsibly in and with our world. All veggies are grown in small raised bed plots or containers and started in our greenhouse. Everything learned here can be practiced at home, even in urban settings.
Camp Netimus for Girls has an established horseback riding program offering instruction in English hunt seat and dressage. Our goal is to encourage campers to become confident, knowledgeable horsewomen achieved through sound instruction. Our horses are carefully selected for their suitability for riders of all levels.

I grew up going to Netimus and became a counselor when I was older. I love the independence being there allowed me to have with guided supervision. I grew into myself and learned respect of nature, others and myself. There are so many activities to choose from and my favorites are canoeing, ropes, and dance. Camp was and often is a second home for most girls who go, not to mention the International friendships I now have

Camp netimus was such an amazing experience for our daughter. It helped her with building confidence, realizing the importance of friendship, and taught her about responsibility. As her mom I felt that she was in a wonderfully safe and beautiful environment with people that treated her like family. We cannot wait to see what this summer at camp netimus has in store for her!

All 3 of our daughters have spent many summers at Camp Netimus with our youngest still going. The girls have loved their experiences there and we wouldn't change a thing. They have formed wonderful friendships with other campers and counselors who come from all over the globe. They have learned independence and leadership and truly enjoy "unplugging" for the summer. The facilities are perfect with a wonderful lake for swimming and boating. We recommend Netimus without any reservations whatsoever!

My daughter had a fabulous experience at Netimus last summer. She went for the first time as a 12 year old and was nervous about two weeks away, but ended up loving it. It's low-key, totally inclusive, and the perfect place for girls to have some safe independence.

My daughter attended this camp for two weeks and loved it. My daughter attends a special education school and the owner sat down with me for over one hour to learn about her needs. From the owners to the nurse to the counselors; they truly love each kid. I would not hesitate to send her back next summer.

Beautiful rustic summer camp with a multitude of activities, internationally staffed, and allows for girls to create life-long friendships. A priceless experience for all who attend and they are celebrating 90 years in operation.

Absolutely LOVED this camp, as did my daughters.... it truly is a gem. They have been to several other camps, but this is the best, hands down. It offers similar things to many sleep away camps including all outdoor activities, horseback riding, drama, swimming, etc but what makes this camp truly unique is the warm, inclusive nature and friendliest staff, counselors, and campers. No clannish, cliquish behavior and I found newfound leadership qualities in my girls after camp. As a parent, there is so much I loved about this camp, including always offering a hot vegetarian meal for dinner.

Camp Netimus is everything you could want a camp to be. My daughter has become more independent, more resilient, and more thoughtful. She has become more comfortable in her own skin and has learned what real friendship is about. Netimus is a warm environment where every girl is appreciated and shines. And that's not to mention the fun! She has so much fun--horseback riding, ropes course, sports, paddle boarding, sliding down the giant inflatable slide into the lake! She loves being able to choose her activities and I love that the activities are mixed ages. Everyone knows everyone and the older

I have been associated with this camp for 50 years in various capacities. I loved it as a camper, came back as a counselor and then later sent my daughter who later became a counselor. I have worked as staff for several years. I am always drawn back by the beauty of the place and the care and love of the people. What a wonderful place to spend summers.

Hello! Thank you for this summer. Since my daughter returned, after her first time at camp and learning the language, she has kept her room impeccable and helps around the house a lot more. We are speaking English and her "ear" is much more open and she says she was dreaming in English by the end of camp. She says she met wonderful people who made her feel welcome. She learned to step more out of her comfort zone and make new friends. Thanks for providing a safe fun environment for her!

Our Daughter has gone to Camp Netimus for the past 4 years and she loves. It is an all girls camp, so there isn't the drama and distraction of boys. the Camp is in an ideal setting in the woods on a small lake in the Pocono mountains. The girls get to pick their activities from a wide range of sports, arts, dance, crafts, swimming and watersports. The sports are not reall serious, but they are interested in basic instruction, but there is a non-competitive philosophy. If your daughter is a high level athlete who is looking to further her game, this is not for you. But girls can try a

Ok, so I may be just a little biased since I worked here this past summer, but I have to say, if you are looking for a camp that is rustic (we do have electricity and running water), with a well knit community that carries on traditions that date back to the 1930's that is all girls, then this is your camp!

Upon arriving to camp, I was blown away by the location of the camp. Rolling hills and many trees along with small woodland creatures. I love the outdoors and camping and nature so this was heaven for me. Camp is nestled in the heart of the Pocono Mountains and is about 15 minutes from
