Our Waxpert, Mara, was born in Bucuresti, Romania. Growing up, she loved cooking up recipes in the kitchen that would help improve her acne prone skin. Mara found great joy in discovering organic materials that can be used and consumed to help your skin glow and look healthy.
She traveled all throughout Europe studying optimal techniques for hair removal and skincare treatments, in addition to discovering the finest materials to maintain youthful vibrant skin.Following all her studies and traveling, in the late 80's, it was finally time to pursue her dream of coming to America.

I have been a client of Mara's for years and have followed her wherever she goes! Quite simply, she is the best! She treats all her clients like family and makes sure to give you the best experience each time. I personally go for Brazilians. She is quick, but meticulous and attentive to your needs. I have never had an ingrown or anything of that nature. Her salon is very clean and very well appointed. Make an appointment with Mara and you will not be disappointed!

Mara is my go to for all waxing services. She does such a great job and the experience is quick and painless, plus she is the absolute sweetest, I could talk to her forever! I usually go during my lunch break and I am in and out within less than an hour for Brazilian, arms and eyebrows (which she shapes dyes beautifully), and the prices are reasonable but realistic for the quality you get. She takes her time and cares about her clients and provides personalized techniques to each one, not like a chain like European wax center. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a good wax. I know she provides

Best eyebrow waxing and shaping I have ever had! Finally found someone that can make my eyebrows look full and that fit my face well. Overall a good experience. I booked my appt online and there was an opening within the hour. I was able to find the place easily enough. The space seems newly renovated and pretty clean, but there was some clutter and boxes partially blocking the hallway. (That may have been from the renovation and fixed though.) Mara was nice and personable asking how I heard about her and about my job. Getting to business, she handed me a mirror and pointed out some issues with my shape. I told her I liked thick but shaped eyebrows, and she knew just what I meant--"young people are FILLING IN their eyebrows

Mara is truly the best waxer and esthetician in NYC. My mom has been going to her for 20+ years and when it came time for me to get a wax, she would not let me go to anyone else! Mara is truly a wax and esthetic expert! Never will I go anywhere else for waxing, electrolysis, and facials. She is very gentle during the waxing and electrolysis treatments and makes the entire hair removal process as fast and painless as can be. I've fallen asleep on her table many times! She has given me great tips on how to care for my skin that have helped me out tremendously! Mara creates her own serum that has me and all of my friends hooked!
