Welcome to San Clemente Optometry: a practice as committed to providing your family with high-quality eye care as you are. As members of the Total Vision Family, we support every patient experience with modern technology and decades of industry knowledge. Whether you're getting an eye exam, buying new glasses, or consulting one of our eye doctors for laser eye surgery, your eyes are in good hands with us.

You and your loved ones deserve eye doctors who take the time to learn about your needs and look out for your best interests. Hi there; you've found us! And it's a pleasure to meet you. Our approach to eye exams goes far beyond the basics. We invest in getting to know your eyes to determine your and your family's risk for eye diseases and vision problems.
Services
At San Clemente Optometry, we value medical knowledge that helps us put your family first. That's why we use industry-standard equipment and up-to-date research to serve you and the people you love. Joining the Total Vision family gives us access to one of California's largest optometry networks. With that comes the support, connections, and resources we use to provide excellent experiences for our patients.
Routine eye exams play a key role in maintaining clear vision and healthy eyes. Examining your eyes tells your eye doctor if you have vision problems and allows them to uncover early warning signs of eye disease. Many eye diseases have no obvious symptoms in their early stages, so detection is vital.
San Clemente Optometry knows children deserve the same high standard of eye care as adults and seniors, even though they may face different risks. That's why we offer comprehensive eye exams designed for children's unique eye health and vision needs. Our practice is a friendly, relaxing place where kids can feel at ease, and our eye doctors know how to turn eye exams into fun educational opportunities.
If you have diabetes, you could be one of the millions of Americans at risk for associated eye diseases that can cause vision loss or total blindness. Everyone should see their optometrist for regular eye exams, but having diabetes means you should be extra diligent about your eye care. Diabetes can increase the risk of developing eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and diabetic macular edema.
Wearing glasses is only one way to manage vision problems. Contact lenses are another potential way to correct your vision without the need for bulky frames! When you wear contacts, you can stop worrying about breaking your glasses during sports and activities. You can also enjoy special events without feeling hidden behind your eyewear.

I brought my 12 year old son to see Dr. Nota. My son is having chronic migraines. Dr Nota diagnosed my son with a stigmatism and need for reading glasses. The doctor said my son’s chronic migraines will probably caesar when his reading classes are ready. We were very pleased with our experience at Dr. Nota’s office.

I was visiting from Denver, and lost my last pair of contact lenses. Not only was Dr. Nota able to see me immediately upon arrival to San Clemente, he administered a full examination of my eyes, and provided contacts that were available in the office. The office was super professional, and were even was able to apply my Colorado insurance plan to the visit. I have never been treated so kindly. I highly recommend this team for your eye care needs!

We just arrived in the area on vacation & discovered that our daughter forgot her contacts/glasses. We walked into San Clemente Optometry, they were super friendly & helpful...we walked out 10 min later with exactly what we needed! Now off to enjoy our vacation plans, that our daughter will now be able to see! 🤓

My son and I have been going to Dr. Nota for several years now and I'm so glad that I found him! He and the staff have always been SUPER friendly, thorough, accommodating and incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about everything including fitting me for the perfect glasses. Even when I lived in Lake Elsinore, I continued to go to him. I highly recommend Dr. Nota and his friendly staff if you're searching for a GOOD Dr. and a great experience every time. :)

Dr. Nota and his associates have one of the better-run offices I’ve been around. My children and I have been coming for eye exams and glasses for about 3 years and we’ve had nothing but positive experiences.
We are never rushed when we visit San Clemente Optometry, which is great because when you’re selecting the right frames for your glasses, you want to make sure they fit well and look good on you.
The assistants are great about getting the paperwork and certain minor procedures out of the way as soon as possible so we can spend most of our visit with Dr. Nota.
