At Radius Martial Arts Academy, we believe children learn best while having fun in a supportive environment based upon mutual respect. Our youth program alternates on a bi-weekly basis between Japanese Karate and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, providing students with the opportunity to form a foundation in both of these martial arts.

My husband and I both train here - we expected to learn a new skill together and get in shape, and actually ended up getting to be a part of a great community. Travis, Steve, and Kurt have cultivated a unique culture that drew us to the school after scoping out several in the area. As a woman with no jiu jitsu experience, everyone I have trained with has been respectful, encouraging, and helpful in ensuring good technique from the start and pushing me to do my best. Love training here!

I've been going to Radius on and off for about two years now. It was really scary going to the first class as I have no other combat sport experience, but I felt instantly at home. The atmosphere is relaxed, but everyone is very serious about helping you improve your skills, and the instruction is great. Jiu jitsu has really become a big part of my life now, I think it will be for a long time, and I really only have Radius to thank for that. I've never had a bad experience at Radius, only challenging ones. If you're looking for a first combat sports experience, I couldn't recommend Radius more

My son wanted to start MMA training, primarily with Muay Thai, with no previous training. He was completely and unconditionally welcomed as part of the adult training programs for both Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu. The leadership at radius has created a family type atmosphere where all are made to feel comfortable and can learn MMA skills at any level. My son thoroughly enjoys going to Radius and cannot get enough. Travis is very understanding of everyone’s situation and accommodates accordingly.

Radius is the best bjj in Fairfield. I’ve been training in New York the past 11 years and I visited Radius in June. After one session it was easy to see that it’s top notch bjj training. From the vibe to the training sessions, the school feels like home. Travis has created an environment that attracts great training partners with high level technique. Love this place. Meaning to make this post. If your looking for a first time experience into combat sports, I highly recommend Radius. If your looking to improve your skill set, I also recommend Radius. I know many may think my opinion is bias as most individuals would say their facility is the best. Not the case. Coaches at Radius are super knowledgeable and work with each individual to perfect his or her technique. Super welcoming atmosphere overall.

I started training Jiu Jitsu at Radius about a month and a half ago. I am enjoying each class more than the last and am always looking forward to the next. I was extremely impressed when I requested more information and Travis, the owner, called me within minutes. He asked what questions I might have and offered me a free class. Travis, Steve, Kurt, and the entire Radius squad continue to impress me each day with the quality of instruction, the warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the integrity of their training. Would recommend to anyone!

I have been training at Radius for a few weeks now, and it has been nothing short of an amazing experience. I had made arrangements to stop in and talk with Travis, the owner, about the details of the available classes and membership, my main interest being Jiu Jitsu. He was very accommodating and offered me a free trial class. At 38 years old and married with two kids, I was looking for something that would be challenging and rewarding on a personal level. Something that could revitalize my self discipline and carry over into my parenting, my home life, and even my work life.

I recently started training at Radius and I must say that everyone has been extremely welcoming and helpful. When I made the decision that I wanted to learn BJJ for self defense and to get fit I began trying out different schools. After speaking with the owner Travis and trying a class here the decision was easy. The instructors are very knowledgeable, no long term contracts or expensive start up fees. It's a perfect place for a beginner like me or an advance person looking for a new school to advance their skills. I highly recommend Radius Martial Arts Academy!
