With an abundance of Vietnamese Pho restaurants around the Puget Sound region, we wanted to create a something a little different, so we decided to open a bar and bring authentic Vietnamese street food to Tacoma. Vietnamese Street Food originates from Thua Thien Hu, the former Imperial capital and cultural center of Vietnam.
Street vendors duplicated many of the same dishes famously served at the Imperial court and the resultant cusine quickly became world renowned. This is one of my favorite places to eat in town. B.C. (before Covid19), I enjoyed eating in the restaurant; the atmostphere was comfortable and it felt like I was back in Southeast Asia. Now, I do their takeout. Some of my favorite dishes are the 5 spice chicken wings, beef jerky papaya salad, and the grilled chicken vermicelli bowl.

New to Tacoma. Stopped here for dinner and OMG. I love this place! We had dinner and then ordered takeout so we could eat it tomorrow too😁 Everything we had was so good, and our server was amazing. I have celiac and our server knew the menu so we’ll, he was able to offer suggestions for me, and swap sauces on a couple of items so I could eat them. We intend to work our way through the menu! We definitely see this place becoming one of our favorites.

Are food just arrived I went to take a bite and I saw a mouse run across the floor!!! I called the waitress over and told him I saw a mouse!!! The manager Mike said "There is not much I can do. I've seen him run around a couple times." He told us we still have to pay for our food. When we barely even had a bite!!! I am a business owner myself and this is not how you conduct business. If I could give 0 stores I would.I will not be going back!

Service is slow, the quality of food very poor. Do not order #1 from the appetizer menu. When the fried roll is cooked to the point where the inside/ stuffing of the roll is fried to a crisp and taste like a potato chip texture wise is horrible. They lucky I gave them 2 stars. I Won't go back. I even told my family today let's give them a second chance and failed both times. 😡 The food is over priced for the quality of product.

This restaurant has two levels. Downstairs is regular dining and upstairs is open seating only for 21yo+. I went during their happy hour (10pm-close) and it was def such a vibe.
Unfortunately, not all appetizers are included in their 25% happy hour discount, so be aware! I ordered,
Crispy fried rolls. They use a non traditional wrapper that looks a lot more crispier but tastes like a regular lumpia.
Small pho. Pho was yum! The small pho was perfect for a small eater like me. I did have to ask the server for bean sprouts and your other typical pho veggies.

I LOVE the grilled pork vermicelli noodle salad! The pork is perfectly marinated and I love the chard bits. The fish sauce dressing is delicious. My friend ordered the grilled chicken plate that came with an egg omelet and a shrimp cake. Can I get those shrimp cakes as a side??? They're so delicious I can eat 3 of them! I regret not taking pictures. The food looked so good I immediately started to eat. Definitely will come back!!
The only negative thing and it's not even the restaurant's fault is the parking but its 6th Ave.. what do you do?

So here it is, the 5 spice wings didn't have much flavor to them after the initial bite. The meat didn't taste marinated but the outside was nicely coated, but the meat was just ok. The salt and pepper squid was good but they give you soy sauce to dip it in and then it's too salty. The salmon roll was lacking flavor and more salmon, needed more herbs or something.

I have been wanting to go here for the longest time but due to COVID, their hours were not as late which made it difficult for us since my boyfriend gets home close to 11. However, they recently updated their hours and we took our chance to go! The waitress Maria was very sweet, accommodating, knowledgeable and would frequently check in on us. I stumbled across La Ca Bar while on my way to another restaurant for dinner. Having spent part of my childhood in Vietnam, I am no stranger to Vietnamese restaurants but one glance at the menu and I could tell this place was something special. Somehow my bf and I always somehow find our way here whether its a lunch date, my birthday party or him surprising me at work! Thank you for making these days special! Truly means a lot (: I personally LOVE the coconut mojito, the fresh rolls and Bun Bo Hue! Bubble lychee was nice too but I just LOVE the creaminess of the coconut

Closest thing to vietnamese food I would find in my hometown (southern California (SD/LA area). Food tasted clean, well made, and flavourful. Didn't have to ask for sauces, it already comes in the box! A true blessing in disguise, lol. Packaging was durable and kept my food warm but not soggy. Ordered the chicken vermicelli and Thai tea. I don't recall if they have boba. Thai tea tasted real and the texture was on the thicker side (quality). I don't live in Washington state but know where I'll go when I visit friends again.

Easily a 5 Star Establishment!
We have eaten in and taken out from LaCà Bar and each time has been a wonderful experience. The interior of the restaurant is fantastic. The natural light makes for a wonderful atmosphere. The decor is very cool and kinda hard to define. Definitely a thoughtfully created space.
My wife got the Vermicelli (#24) and I got a grilled pork sandwich (#16). Both dishes were great with tons of flavor. We ordered a happy hour appetizer also! The price point here won’t break the bank.
The interior is very clean and the service was quick and friendly.
