Burs Restaurant got its start in the early 1950's as both Georgia's Boulevard Coffee Shop and The Lakewood Coffee Shop serving home style cooked meals, homemade pies and pastries to go with that cup of morning eye-opener. In the early 1970s, Will Burslem and his wife, Verna Burris, bought the business and renamed it Burs - a cute combination of their two last names.
Burs continues to provide a vast menu with plenty of sections including breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Burslem family ran the restaurant for 30 years until The Tweten Family purchased it just prior to the millennium. We invite you to come and visit our iconic restaurant and enjoy our well known food and superior service.

This place has been here a long time. I recently started coming here because it is close by and always seems to be pretty busy. I have had breakfast most of my visits but this time decided to try something from their dinner menu. Went with the beef steak with mashed taters and veggies. It came with a salad and roll. It was just okay...gravy and potatoes tasted packaged and not scratch. Vegetables were frozen mixed veggies.
Service was a little slow. One of my friends was obviously irritated by this and felt the need to bring it to our waitress's attention. Soon after that our food

I cant say enough "good" about Burrs Restaurant. It is just a really fantastic place. It has an old timey, cozy diner feel to it with plenty of warm, inviting ambience. When my son and I were there I dont think they could have been any more busy than they were. We didn't have to wait for a table although the waitress did tell us that it might be a bit of a waitress did tell us that our order would probably take a while because they were so backed up in the kitchen which was just fine with us as it gave us a bit of time to catch up while enjoying the whole experience over good conversation

I have already reviewed Burs and I should have came back. Clearly I'm the silly one however, what the heck!!! Management needs an attitude check, I drive 15 min to get f my breakfast which I was very clear in what I wanted and had the hostess repeat my order I picked it up clarified that it was right got home and it was wrong. I then went back to the restaurant got what was supposed to be the correct food and they acted like I owe them money when I reviewed the menu look at what I paid and clearly I paid the correct amount in the very beginning. I am now eating breakfast in multiple stops

Had 4 hairs in my omelet....side of hash brown's and a English muffin. The omelet was only cheese and jalapeno....4 hairs. Last time I'll ever go. Back and forth for 11 years I've finally learned my lesson. Come here if you are not paying attention to what's in front of you....and mine was a to go order

Came in for breakfast the first day the county opened back to 50% capacity and all COVID-19 protocols were in place. It was early we were cold and hungry. We were met by our server Tiffany, she was helpful, cheerful and helped us navigate through the menu since this was our first time. While we decided what we were going to order she brought over freshly brewed coffee. I'm not usually a fan of pot coffee, but this was really a good bean. We decided to share the Eggs Benedict with hash browns it was delivered as ordered and as described and it was delicious. We will definitely be back. The

Waitress was nice! 1 star for her.
If you have no tastebuds you'll love their food
Food is very bland. Absolutely no flavor. French toast was just egg bread. Chicken fried steak batter was tasteless. Had it before and it was awesome, not anymore. French dip was just roast beef place on a plain hoagie roll, put salt and pepper on it and wasn't much better, Au jus was just watery brown liquid with no taste as well. French fries were good, hot and crunchy. Only thing we could say was good.Sad, don't think we will be craving to come here again anytime soon!
Note to the cook, please

The 4 and 5 star reviews are a bit of a mystery. "Old school interior" doesn't mean charming old school decoration it means old dark wood paneling and poor lighting. It felt like a dive, and not in a nostalgic way.
The prices were high. Burs Benny, which is a split English muffin, 2 poached eggs, and a couple of wedges of deli ham and some fries was overpriced. Not anyplace that has a draw for me, either decor, food, or price.

I've grown up going to Burs, never have I had the service we received tonight. Took over 45 minutes to get our food after we ordered, which took awhile also.. when we asked why we hadn't gotten food when other who ordered after us were enjoying their meals, was told others got theirs first because we ordered "difficult entrees". We ordered 2 sandwiches and some eggs. When I finally got my food it was a plate of hashbrowns with a small side of eggs, when the eggs was what was actually ordered. The server also told me she would not charge me, and still brought a check out. By

Walked in on a crowded Friday lunch. My coworker told me about this place. Chill atmosphere with lots of older people. There was the table in the middle of the restaurant of 8 people kind of obnoxious. Ordered my usual chicken fried steak while my coworker got the teriyaki chicken burger.
Food came out surprising fast for how busy they were. Portions were huuuuge! The gravy on my steak was amazing. It had the perfect texture and wasn't overly salty like most places I've been to. Hash browns were extra crispy just how I like it. Came with so much food I could not finish the last few bites
