We are proud to be the only East West Cafe with its original recipes. We prepare and cook your dishes with the same standards that we use to prepare our own family dinners. We use only fresh produce, herbs and spices that are hand - selected at local Tacoma markets. Some are grown in our own garden.

The vibrant colors tell you or their freshness and full flavors. We remove all fat from the meats to insure the leanest, healthiest portions. The flavor of fresh herbs and spices combined with our lean meats create our very special, flavorful dishes. We do not cook with MSG. Gluten-free or vegetarian options are available.
Services
Imagine our "Pho" taken up a notch with flavors from lemongrass, shallots, garlic, and chili oil. Also known as "Drunken Noodles", this is a Traditional Thai dish with wide noodles stir-fried with garlic, mixed vegetables, basil, and our special sauce. Lightly coated in corn flour, fillets of white tilapia are pan-fried then topped with fried shallot and onion in our special sauce.

Love the buttery pho broth. So good. Honestly I’ve had bad experiences with pho so far. I’m sure it has to do with staffing and supply shortages. I had sworn off pho 🍜. But I gave in. And I’m glad I did.

This was one of the worst Thai places that we've ever been to. Not just in Tacoma, but anywhere. I've never had a bland curry before our visit to this place. I ordered the Chicken Red Curry and my partner ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was stir-fry veggies and noodles served with a small side of curry sauce - no peanut sauce or anything. Just water noodles and veggies with a curry dip. The "curry" was Chinese stir-fry vegetables and chicken (boiled in water seemingly as everything was flavorless) and then dumped over the top with red curry water. It was so awful we ended up leaving

Such a great place to eat !! Service was excellent, and the food was yummy. It's a very small restaurant and there was a bit of a wait to get in..super busy place but we'll worth the wait.

I'll keep this short. The food was just okay. I got the drunken noodles and they were dry and not fried. The vegetables were very al dente which I didn't mind too much but it's just unlike any other drunken noodles I've ever had. Hardly any flavor because there was literally almost no sauce, The noodles were still almost clear?.. The tofu was dry and barely cooked. My wife got the pad see ew And our food was almost identical in look and flavor. Definitely much much better Thai food in Tacoma. Not worth spending 15 bucks when there are plenty of other restaurants in Tacoma.

The experience eating at East & West was great! There are quite a few items that are able to be made vegan, vegetarian, or pescatarian, and the nice humans working today we’re willing to help. If you are a fan of spice, don’t go with their typical 1-5 spice scale, though, and feel free to order a spice level from 6-10.
I’ll be returning!

Really not a good experience. Ordered take out and the man who took my order was very gruff and a bit rude. I almost hung up but unfortunately powered through and placed the order. I say unfortunately because the Pad Thai was the worst I’ve ever had—very bland, no flavor whatsoever. My husband threw his away after a couple bites. My tom yum soup was also barely edible—tasted like watered-down tomato soup, no tom yum flavor at all. I will say the fresh rolls were good. Save yourself the money and go to Silk Thai, also in Tacoma. MUCH better food!!!

Me and my wife both enjoy eating hear. We where just their with the family, every one enjoyed it. The pork fried rice is the best I've had anywhere. I like that they ask you how spicy you won't your food. From 0-5 spice 3 is good for me. I've enjoyed every meal that I've had hear. We will always be back.

Great place to eat. Food was tasty and service was good too. Tofu was a bit bland but its tofu lol. But the sauces and flavors of the other dishes we tried were delicious.

Nice spot, and solid but not mind blowing food. First time I ordered 4/5 spice and it wasn't spicy at all second time ordered 5/5 and still barely spicy. Bubble tea was amazing with slightly warm tapioca balls and ice cold taro tea! Art, taped up posters about specials, and Christmas lights don't quite flow/mesh with each other.
Togo order took 30 minutes for a single dish.

I was initially drawn in by the bubble tea neon sign. To offer a time of day, this was shortly past 5pm and unfortunately the bubble tea was deeply flawed by the tapioca pearls. 80% of them were inedible due to hard centers. They also were dissolving and coloring the drink more than I'm used to.
I ordered their Beef Pho to go (they don't offer a variety where you get to pick brisket, flank, tripe, etc to be noted). They fall into the category of combining sauces into one single to-go cup, which isn't useful cause I like to have my own ratio.
The quantity of protein was fantastic, a little short
