Pine Point Farm or the "Washington County Farm" was originally founded in 1858 as Minnesota's second "poor farm, " a home for the chronically indigent or people just temporarily down on their luck. Stillwater was a very wealthy community in 1850, then acting Territorial Capital. In this abundant atmosphere, a desire to help the less fortunate culminated in the construction of a Poor Farm.
This is a historic-country site where guests come to enjoy nature and the environment. Queen canopy bed, electric fireplace & double Jacuzzi marble bathroom. DVD player and satellite television. Wireless internet access in the house. Our rates include European style breakfast buffet, featuring fresh baked pastries & baguettes, cheese, fruit, scrambled eggs, cold deli meat, yogurt & homemade granola, coffee & juice.
An European-style country estate in a wooded, 350 acre park. Minutes away from historic Stillwater, Minnesota, the Outing Lodge is a great venue for a romantic wedding. When you and your guests 'move' into the Outing Lodge, everything can happen at one location. Our gardens and lawns welcome casual strolling, relaxed picture taking, a pastoral ceremony, and a carefree receiving line.
For garden weddings, the capacity is almost limitless. If the weather is not inviting for a garden ceremony, the library accommodates up to 150 guests and you can say your vows in front of a charming white marble fireplace. For dining, the main dining room seats 150 or up to 300 guests if using all three floors of the Inn.

Oh I love the lodge! Just beautiful. The themed dinners are awesome too. I bring friends here. Each time I visit it's more spectacular.
This weekend I was entrained by owls throughout the night. Very comfy night.

Wonderful staff; amazing food; beautiful venue!
The Outing Lodge hosted our engagement photo session and, more importantly, our October 2021 wedding. The venue was everything we wanted for a rustic, fall wedding. The guests adored the staff. The food was delicious! Sofia worked with us for over 11 months to plan the day. The unique things about this venue are the charm of the lodge, the proximity to hiking and biking trails, and the package deal with ceremony, reception, 7 rooms for guests overnight, food and dessert all taken care of by the lodge. Thank you to the Outing Lodge staff for the best

The photos on social media really don’t do justice to how cozy and beautiful this property is. Our room was so comfortable and had plenty of amenities. We loved the amount of wildlife in the area, the lake and the gardens were gorgeous. Breakfast was wonderful and the laid back atmosphere was perfect. We would absolutely stay here again!

The house needs some major repairs there is rotting in some of the frame, a strange smell and just doesn’t look as good as some pictures. The check in time started at 3 which seemed normal but there was nothing for breakfast until 9 am. That takes away so much of the day. I suppose it works if you’re doing a wedding party but not for the rest of us. The history of the place is neat and there are some great areas for pictures but no access to the lake to swim or anything. It just didn’t seem like the same place in the photos I saw online and was a little concerned about the condition of the

This venue is beautiful on the inside, however it has window a/c units that are not sufficient to keep up with the hot humid MN weather. The event attend here was was also too large for the space so the temp was just intolerable. Beautiful outdoor grounds and overall architecturally pleasing. Refreshments that were served where underwhelming. Not sure if that lies on the lodge itself or a catering service?

We stayed two nights. We had breakfast there the first morning and it was delicious! The owners and staff are so kind. Carlota’s paintings and the rooms are beautiful. The bed was really creaky at the slightest movement and had to get rid of two hornets in the bathroom otherwise it was a great stay!

We stayed in the Amelia room #1 for our 30 year anniversary....and now we know how important it is to read reviews. 😱
As we walked in we noticed more and more items in disrepair and lots cobwebs. The canopy bed had raw 2x4s attached to the wall with Sheetrock screws - bed was in very bad shape. It was rickety and squeaked. The room was cold. (They didn’t want to turn on the radiator heat yet...)
A space heater was brought in.
And after a few hours the room heated up to 68. Lol
But the straw that broke this camel’s back was the bathroom. The sink faucet handle was broken. The worst was

The Outing Lodge was the perfect venue for our daughter’s June 2020 wedding! We downsized to only immediate family because of the coronavirus. Sofia was wonderful to work with, and we appreciated the flexibility to shift our prepaid funds to things that would benefit our revised situation.
We rented all seven B&B rooms which assured we had the whole lodge to ourselves. The sun came out in time for a beautiful outdoor ceremony, but if the weather had been inclement the library would have been a perfect alternative. After dinner in their elegant dining room, we danced on the patio until dark,

This place is a very unique setting, the ski trails were beautiful and the building is very impressive. A few things that stood out to us that could have been better for the price - and the first one could have been my mistake, it may have been listed that the fireplace in the Robert Frost room was an electric heater fireplace, but we were definitely disappointed that it wasn't a real fireplace, since I had payed extra for us to stay in that room that we could have a fireplace to read by.
There were stains on the bed sheets, we found that a bit gross, and the quality of the pillows were honestly

The outing lodge is a charming and gorgeous venue tucked away in the Stillwater countryside. The venue itself is stunning! It offered the same class and vintage feel as some of the downtown mansions but with a more rustic and intimate feel. Not to mention it was the most affordable option!
The staff is wonderful. They’re a small operation that is attentive and gracious. We worked closely with Sophia to plan every last detail of the wedding. Most everything you could need is already at the lodge. The food was amazing and the service was exemplary! My husband and I are looking forward to spending

Welcome to Grey Gardens! (ahem) I mean the The Outing Lodge...

Oh boy, where to begin? While it is extremely tempting to write a lengthy novella of a review about the Outing Lodge (est. 1858) as an homage to it's past as a Victorian Dickenseque poor house I will have to tell this unsettling tale using the modern conventions of lists and bullet points. This is a review of the B & B experience only.

If you want the short version here it is...

* Outrageous cost ($215) for a run down room that felt like price gouging

* As an event center, the grounds offer a unique faded beauty and

This place is very outdated and not kept up well. Walking in the front door we were struck by an 'old, dank smell'. Our bedding even felt damp. I asked for two beds, we got one. Rooms were unfinished with old, dirty decor on the walls. We made a point to be in the room just for sleeping and got out first thing in the morning. Who markets that there are dead people buried on the property?

The place has potential, but needs serious work!

This place is awesome. Instead of typing out paragraphs, I thought I'd highlight just a few items that make this place great!
1. They have a super friendly chocolate lab that hangs out by the door. His name is Choco. He's great with kids and strangers alike!
2. The BREAKFAST. Ohhhhhh my word. This trip would have been worth it just for the breakfast.
3. The rooms were spacious. We paid the same amount for a room with a separate area that had a futon in it as well as a back porch with two twin beds in there!
4. Everyone is super friendly. We ate breakfast next to the owners who told us

I had a Groupon which I used for my wife's birthday early this month. So, I jumped on opportunity to give this place a try. We had already came here in March for their March Chocolate B&B Tour. So, we were impressed with the wonderful landscaping as well as actor-themed rooms. I was lucky to book early enough for us to stay at the Eva Peron room (largest in the house) over this weekend. Check-in was recommended at 3PM with the other Groupon guests to have the house tour followed by wine and cheese. Our host helped us up to our room. We were surprised at the layout with 3 rooms inside.

Went for a one night stay. We came for a quick micro vacation over the weekend. We had delicious chicken pot pies, lovely -25F snow shoeing by moonlight walk and relaxing fire side book reading. The history, staff, and unique factor make this quirky charming B&B a must. It did the trick to help us recharge our batteries over a snowy MN weekend.

I really wish I could give a higher rating. However if I could give a 2.5 star rating I would. There are things really great about the place, such as the friendly host, the complementary wine and cheese sampling and tour upon arrival, Choco the friendly and lovable chocolate lab who loves to go for walks on the gorgeous state park trails, the cozy first floor fire place, and the tasty breakfast served each morning. We read bad reviews about the dog, however he was the sweetest dog we had met. He's really a perk of staying here. However the downsides were finding dog hair all over our bed

I was recently at Outing Lodge for a private party. It was a bitterly cold evening and the massive fireplace was roaring in anticipation of the guests. It was a lovely setting to mingle with a cocktail. Dinner was delicious and pure. The food was delicious but not over-thought- honest and good. The lodge is aged and well loved. I would not of been surprised if Hemingway ambled in to order a scotch.

My husband and I spent an evening here and it is lovely! Very hospitable and cozy. We painted, ate cheese and drank wine. We read by the huge fireplace, took a few hikes in the adjacent trails and cuddled with Choco the sweet dog. Breakfast was delicious and filling. Our room was comfortable - we could not have asked for a better night! Thank you!

My husband and I recently stayed at the Outing Lodge. The house had a charming exterior. I imagine the grounds are even more beautiful in the summer and fall. The interior decor was interesting- some unique design elements. The multiple fireplaces and the upstairs library intrigued us the most.

We stayed in the Bob Dylan room - decor included some Bobby Z memorabilia. The room was compact; the bed seemed a bit hard; the TV was small; and the bathroom tub was somewhat strange with bricks used as faucet knob stoppers. However, we did not expect a Radisson - we expected a historic home with a personality
