Ab Cake Decorating & Supplies

In May of 2004, ABcake was founded by Alice Rodriguez & Maria Garcia. Alice started back in the seventies learning to decorate cakes from her decorating teacher Mrs. Jimenez. However, after mastering her skills she soon learned that supplies were hard to come by. She resorted to buying supplies in small quantities from companies such as Wilton Bakery craft and sold them to other students and schools that offered cake decorating classes.

Eventually, her efforts turned into a business and she was overwhelmed by request. This made her realize that her garage, which she used as a warehouse, was not big enough and leading her to lease her first building on the corner of Washington & Greenwood in the city of Montebello. With little business and advertisement experience, she found it difficult to pay rent and bring in sales.
