I am also very thankful that Laura is staying on with us, so that I can soak up ALL her amazing knowledge! A little bit about me. I have been sewing for about 6+ years - I fell in love with it real hard.
This class is designed as the next step for the sewist who has recently completed the beginner Machine Embroidery Lessons but this class is open to any interested sewist. One of my best experiences in any store, ever. Laura was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. So was the gentleman who does repairs (didn't catch his name) who answered some questions for me while Laura had to finish with another customer. The loyalty card program is awesome because it's on your terms...no waiting around for a coupon. I will definitely be going back to purchase thread, notions, etc. even though Amazon is my go-to for stuff like that on the cheap. I will gladly make the drive and spend an extra buck to help make sure a store like this sticks around.

I honestly explained that I was comparison shopping. She (owner) started by saying lessons where I came from were inferior to hers. How would she know? I did not tell her what store I'd visited. It annoys me when someone tries to make their product better by putting down another. It tells me they are not confident in their product or service.
She then consistently offered machines beyond my price range, and offered nothing to account for price discrepancy (and to have my cards on the table, I showed her a photo of what I was using for comparison). Finally she relented, told me she had one for

I bought a serger over a year ago, probably a year and a half - a pretty expensive Baby Lock. Well, life happened and I never used it. I just called them up and told them that and the owner immediately just said "would you like to come in for a lesson?" and offered me a time tomorrow morning. No charge, no fuss, no judgment - just help.
So I'm not sure what happened to Laura E, but I certainly don't think they sell and then don't care. The lesson I went for when I bought it was excellent, and I have no doubt my refresher will be also.

The new owner is shockingly abrasive and rude to her customers. If she doesn't develop better customer service skills quickly she will not stay in business for very long. She is very friendly when you are in the process of buying your sewing machine but once she closes that sale she treats people with a great amount of impatience and hostility. I had heard things about her nasty behavior from a former employee and now I understand what they're talking about.
