Great food. Great atmosphere. Extensive scotch and bourbon selection. Good craft beer selection. Great service from my server at the table. At the time that I went it was seat yourself but there wasn't a sign stating that and I stood at the hostess counter for over 5 minutes before any of the three employees looking right at me said anything. All of the other employees that I encountered were friendly and attentive. I did spend a little more than usual as I had gotten 2 drinks, an entree, and a dessert over a 3 hour period.

This is a wonderful restaurant. From the atmosphere to the food, it is all spectacular! They have a ton of outdoor seating and the bar opens opens the patio!
I had the fried gulf shrimp and it was cooked perfectly! The friend I was with and the Jalapeño creme based soup (sorry don't remember the actual name) and it was phenomenal. The taste of that soup hit the spot! So much flavor!
Girls night or date night or a Saturday lunch spot, make sure to add this to your list! I can't wait to go back!

Tavern at Lakeside offers great drinks and food along with a lackluster dining experience. Firstly, the layout was not well thought out. Especially on busy nights, like a Friday, it feels like walking through a Tokyo subway station. Secondly, I guess their A/C was not working this night because the temperature and humidity was akin to a reptilian habitat. Thirdly, the place has a fly problem. My wife and I spent most of our time fighting off the horde of flies that were harassing us throughout out dinner. I think some ceiling fans would’ve helped with the temperature and flies, but there are

Good food, fairly priced drink, good service. Sad to see the outside bar closed today, on an unusually cool day for Texas, late June. Inside is super dark for my taste, but in all fairness, it's what some people seek a tavern for in the first place. Definitely recommend the outdoor bar area, and their burger is bomb. Had this salad today, it was about 17 heads of lettuce, but the chicken was perfectly grilled, fresh, and seasoned well, and their Caesar dressing is fair. Croutons were house made, and yummy. Fries are the jam, every time. HILARIOUS selection of music videos, (as well as plenty of

We ate here on a Friday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. The first thing I noticed was the open patio, which looked like a great place to hang out for drinks after work (saw LOTs of dogs on the patio). To eat, we started with the happy hour nachos which were delicious. For our entrees, we ordered the club sandwich and brisket grilled cheese. Both were good, but the best thing was probably the beer battered French fries - SO tasty. Margarita on the rocks was great as well. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu soon.
