I love Dana and Jay! They are very personable and do such a wonderful job. I've had various shoes resoled (Birks, Husb Puppies, Merrell, etc.) and had some clothing alteration done as well. They are highly recommended!!

I had the lining of my strappy heels replaced as I had not used it in years. They came back look brand new. Good workmanship. Not cheap but totally worth it. Will definitely come back and recommend.

Jay and Dana are very good and friendly to work with. Their pricing are fair and workmanship are superb. Stopped by the other day to have a belt shorten, Jay quoted the price and explained the details to the work. It was done in 15 minutes and it looked as if it was a newly purchased from the shelf! The Jay and Dana Team is highly recommended!

Dana is amazing! The handle on my YSL tote came loose (you could see the stitches unraveling on the inside) and when I showed it to Dana, she said "no problem, we can fix that". Then she took it one step further and suggested she can reinforce the other handle with a couple of stitches as well. She didn't charge extra for that and the work was done impeccably and within a week (I wasn't in a rush). I throw everything into the tote and I have never worried once that the handle would come loose again. I'm taking all of my leather goods to Dana from now on!

Great people. I was looking to make some custom webbings for my ATV. They were more than accommodating. Helped me figure out how to put everything together so that I could bring it to them to have sewn together. Came out great. Couldn't be happier.

I had the best experience! I got all my questions answered and was so happy with the service. I got my shoes stretched and a red mirror gloss protective sole. The Cobbler did the service in just a couple days so I could have my shoes back quickly. I already recommended this shop to some friends and will definitely be back! Such professionalism and great customer service.

I had them recolor an old pair of worn leather shoes and they did a great job (at least so far). Much better than another 5 star place in the area!

Amazing service, they fixed up two pairs of sandals. They even did a last minute sole repair while I was at the store right before closing. They are a great business. Definitely going back, I love that I can have my she's repaired and I don't need to buy new ones.

I've tried most of the reputable tailors in the area, and no where have I found better communication (perhaps the most important quality of a good tailor) and quality of work than here. Dana does an amazing and thoughtful job with every piece she works on and is exactly the companion you want when coming up with the perfect fit. I've collected a sack full of shoes and bags in need of love and for a couple yrs but hadn't prioritized looking for a repair shop. Mainly, cuz we've been burned before. Shotty job and overall ruined my shoes and bags. The last straw for me was stretching my wedding shoes. Another cobbler only guaranteed one redo. My feet killed me by the time our ceremony was finished. Huge lessons learned here.

Glad I waited! I discovered The Cobbler in downtown San Mateo, new young owners of 2 yrs now and lovely as can be. Feels like they really care about my items.

Sole replacements? NO GLUE

I wish I had a before photo! I haven't been able to use this purse for over 4 years! I brought this to Coach themselves and they sent it back to me saying they were unable to fix it because the damage was so bad. I decided to give this shop a shot on this purse, since they did so good on all my other items. Unbelievable!!! You can't even tell! The outside is completely untouched! The damage before iinside strap completely ripped off with a patch of the material. It's super unnoticeable! Thank you so much Jay!

I had posted a negative review, not realizing that the business has changed owners. Now it is the best shoe repair in the area. I brought my expensive designer boots to have the heel made a little shorter. He did a perfect job and I am so happy to find a great cobbler. I have had problems with other places either doing shoddy work, making mistakes, and just being rude to customers. But this couple who now owns the business is just lovely and they also do dry cleaning an alterations. Highly recommended.

So I was really looking forward to have my items clean and altered. I left my items with Dana, she said she'll text me; she did but receipt with no quotes. She was nice, but then I got a text regarding my items were ready. Faster than I was expecting. So I go and my bill is 173.75. I never paid this much for dry cleaning and small alterations. She charged me 24.50 for dry cleaning my 5 year old dress. I normally pay 7.50. Wow. That's not all; 50$ for dry cleaning my two dresses. I only paid 20$ for the dresses at macys. So just remember to get a real quote, I feel robbed. Not a trustworthy business

The cobbler in the mall closed after more than 20 years, I was so grateful to find another one. I can continue to use dress shoes for dancing so the leather heels need to be replaced every 5 years or so. Also, find good shoes at goodwill etc, which typically need a professional cleaning and polish. I am sure to be back.

This place dyed my lamb leather Moto jacket, fixed hemline on a leather skirt from Zara.
Lined a silk dress, and hemmed my cotton linen dress.
I love textiles and the fact I could give them leather, silk or linen and get it back in the same condition is a miracle.
I haven't done cobbler work as of yet but it's impeccable looking at all the shoes that were already there.
You get what you pay for!
They both wore masks, there is a shield for your protection and theirs.
Don't wait to use their services I cleaned out my closet and saved

Replaced heels got worn out in a few weeks. I think I put them on only several times. The price was much more expensive than average.

Thank you for your reply--- It was a few months before, a pair of slip-on. It looks you didn't know the quality of the material you used to fix the heels. Please make research on you own. I got the heels replaced again by another shoe repairer and now I'm happy.

Jay repaired a clutch handbag where the frame had come away from the body of the purse. The repair job was done quickly and it looks perfect! Dana and Jay are incredibly friendly and professional, and it's always a pleasure to visit.
I've also had them do drycleaning for me and again it was timely and well done. I got a quote beforehand when I wasn't sure how much it would be, and it seemed comparable to another company that I got a quote from, and then I wasn't surprised by the bill at the end.

This place is fantastic and the people are amazing. I needed some leather motorcycle gloves altered. The thumbs were too long. They are $300 gloves and wanted to make sure they were repaired right. I really didn't know where to go for such a unique thing. Because the gloves have a lot of extra padding and reinforcement, I imagined them to be very difficult if not impossible to shorten because to do them right you need to pull the thumbs inside out. The external exoskeleton prevents that.

I had a pair of heels with the inserts(?) (padding feet make contact with), was peeling, I was tempted to toss them, but otherwise they're fine. Nice to not have to spend a ton of time shopping for a replacement, look great and I'm grateful I can keep them.
