Terrible attitude from the manager of this property Maria McGowen.
From the start of this lady was rude and treating us as if we were criminals, we were not begging for nothing. All the documentation required was provided… I wouldn’t like to think that she was discriminating against us because we are 🏳️🌈
Don’t even bother trying to rent here… unless you are really desperate… I wouldn’t recommend it.

I lived here for 2 1/2 years and recently moved out. I was a participant in a housing program for foster youth who had multiple units at this complex. The management here, specifically Maria, is horrible to work with. She was extremely discriminatory towards all of the youth in the program including myself. When you tried talking with her about anything regarding the unit she would be very cold towards us. One of the program participants talked to Maria and Maria proceeded to say "You're one of THEM aren't you?" when the participant stated they were in the program. The apartment

Beware this place keeps your deposit no matter what I hire a cleaning person and clean the carpets and they still charge me a cleaning fee & new carpets plus more. The place always smell like mariguana, very noise near the freeway, a lots of spiders all over and the dog area was infested with flees. Pool was always dirty. several families live in one apartment and never anybody that rounds the place is around. beware

Sleezy property management company Property West Residential. Do not bother asking for your security deposit back. They will not answer calls. When you do finally get them on a call, theyll say whatever to get you to stop calling them, but will not send you your deposit check.

Just moved in, be here for about 3 weeks and there is trash all over the bushes, tried calling the office and going more than 5x + no one picking up & having to leave messages.
Since I got here people have been parking in my parking spot while my husband’s at work; not appropriate. & besides that so many things were wrong with the apartment i got before I moved in hope not to get charged when I move out.

This is a AMAZING place to live in all the residents are nice and so are the maintenance and the mangers.Love that they allow dogs some dogs bark once in awhile but it's rare all the kids are nice and the balconys twords the upper aptments are pretty big and and it's close to the freeway but you don't hear anything and if you like peace and quiet move to the upper aptments and if you don't care move by the park the rooms are pretty big and so are some of the bathrooms I've been living here for about eight years and nothing inappropriate has gone on the garages are pretty big by the upper aptments

I hated living here, and cannot stand the staff. My wife and I had our unit broken into by another resident, and the apartment manager did nothing (full disclosure: a passersby had taken a video which was submitted as evidence, and he followed this person to his apartment). We moved into our apartment (paying $1900/mo) infested with roaches. The sinks, baths, and all other fixtures were in constant disrepair. I had my first hot shower in years when I moved out. The staff truly does a great job in conveying exactly how little they care. I was a service member, and was forced to live in this place

If no stars was an option that's what I would leave. If anyone on here is considering renting at the Northwoods in San Marcos ... DON'T!! Literally the most expensive rent I have payed at an apartment for TERRIBLE appliances, everything has broken after 3.5 years (and good luck getting them to come fix anything). The gardeners weed whack and trim bushes EVERYDAY (which is incredibly excessive) because every bush must be perfectly round. They have no regard for indigenous plants and rip them out ruthlessly. They also rip out all flowers because it doesn't go with the required aesthetic

We have lived here for about 3 months now. The staff has been relatively prompt with fixing things and I love the open floor plans. Yes there are a lot of children but it makes me happy seeing them play they are not rude or disrespectful even to my dog. The vast majority is Hispanic who are very nice and fun. I think we picked a winner moving here. I love the lighting at night I feel very safe.

I have lived at Northwoods for the past year and have had a great experience. Jessica in the office and Milton in maintenance are always extremely helpful and quick to respond. The community is nice and well maintained, there is a playground which my kids love!! I have not had any issues and would definitely recommend this community to anyone looking for a well managed apartment close to the highway at a reasonable price.

Assistant Manager doesn't know anything! She didn't have answers and her costumer service sucks! She was picking her nose while taking on the phone....eww. She looked like she didn't want to be there. I like the place but because of her I won't be renting there. And beware of people speeding in the parking lot.

Where to start??? When we moved in our heater didn't work. No hot water. Nothing. It took almost a week for them to fix the problem. Now it's summer and our ac is out. When they came to fix that, they broke our sink. Two days of waiting in the heat and the plummer is over an hour late. We'll see how long that takes. Small garages, cockroach infestations, and children running wild from 6am-1am. No joke. These kids hop the fence to the pool and throw dirt and rocks in it. I've had my car backed into with no note. The worst by far is the kids. Not unusual to see 6+ running out
