I have been a long time customer of Renatos. Literally since they opened. Since the pandemic everything has gone downhill. Orders are always wrong. You ask for red sauce and get white, etc. Wrong dish. Food allergies ignored. The filet mignon is dry, I get a better cut at giant. Tomato sauce last night had no flavor to it. Bread for multiple people (multiple entrees) had less than a dozen pieces. Since I only do carry out, these problems ruin the meal. Before the pandemic Enzo made sure orders were correct before they left restaurant. There was never a bad sauce. Now there is new staff, and food

Best dining experience in at least two years. Service was phenomenal. Food was excellent. The two waiters worked together and were spot on with timing and service without all the extra unnecessary check-ins. Whenever we needed something, they were there. Whenever we didn't need something, they weren't there. This is a difficult skill to master. The food was also great, but I have to give special kudos to the service because it seems to be more rare.

We stopped here for lunch after a morning at Glenstone. We didn't need reservations, it wasn't crowded and the service was excellent. The pasta had great texture and the sauces were light and fresh. We enjoyed the spaghetti and meatballs, linguine with shrimp and scallops, lobster ravioli, and grilled trout. All delicious.

My friend grew-up in Potomac, so we spent a full day wandering about her old neighborhood reminiscing. That night, for dinner, we dined at Renato, which was sublime. From the wine to the calamari to the pasta to the service, it was such an air of elevated, elegant comfort. There was an easy warmth that wrapped us up and returned us to a nostalgic time, that somehow felt dreamlike.

Visited with some neighbors and had a nice leisurely lunch. Everyone's dish turned out delicious (Pasta Norma, Chicken Parmesan, Gnocchi). I had the Eggplant parmesan. My intent was to eat half but I could not help myself. I finished the entire dish.The service was great and they allowed us to talk a while and didn't rush us out. It is a nice and cozy restaurant that accommodates groups and the acoustics allow you to hear the conversation. Great atmosphere for dates as well as business dinners.

I never get tired of this place. food quality is consistently high, staff is consistently friendly and efficient. there are always great specials and seafood gets special treatment here, due to the influences of seafood market that owns the restaurant. dining room redo is even nicer than before. They are just as delightful whether you order a bowl of pasta or a 3 course meal. pastas and fish are very reasonable and the outstanding tiramisu is the benchmark for which i measure all others.
