I was invited to this place by my Jamaican friend as a recommended place for Jamaican food. And I was super impressed by how delicious it is, as well as how kind the staff is. I totally recommend the pulled pork as it was done perfectly, but everything is very flavorful and well done. Just a warning as it may be spicy.

Ordered my food hour and half ago and still waiting for it inside restaurant. The waiter told me 5 minutes only to come back 20 mins later and say they never received my online order. Can’t comment on the taste of the food yet but I won’t be ordering from here again based on the customer service. If you’re really hungry don’t eat here lol. I’m not the only one waiting also.

I absolutely love this place, why is the food sooooo good!!! I'm probably going to order my dinner from here tonight. The flavors are there on everything, I'm never disappointed when I eat here. I would say best Caribbean food in Rockville. Just be aware that the prices do vary from weekday to weekends, a little more pricey today on Friday vs when I went during the week around the same time of day. But absolutely still worth it.

I was there recently. The manager cut me off after a number of beers. While that was unnecessary as I have a high tolerance and was walking not driving, the manager didn't know that. Good for him for looking out for his staff and patrons. Under the circumstances it was the right thing to do. These people have your back.

I've been to this place before and was not impressed but I decided to give them another try. I ordered oxtails peas and rice greens and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese look like it was from Kraft box bland and clumpy. The greens were good but my tray was loaded with peas and rice and they were very skimpy on the meat. The prices are higher at this location and mediocre customer service. Will not go back.

I was told to come here because island pride on hungerford was out of brown stew chicken as always. So I went here the food doesn't taste the same chicken was hard, to hard to even eat . Over all wasn't even hot temperature wise. The food just tasted old as if it was made days ago. I was very disappointed because it's suppose to affiliated with the one up the street. I also don't like that you can't see the food or your plate being made so you don't really know what your gonna get. Just over all blah

I'm confused at the great reviews but maybe I just got a bad order. I ordered door dash and had the veggie roti, which was just a pile of veggies in water with no flavor and the roti was stiff and super dry on the side. Beef patty tasted the same as 7 eleven beef patties. Cocoa bread was not fresh and had a weird taste to it I had to throw it out, they also forgot my drink. Ugh highly disappointed as I was really looking forward to enjoying this place. Wont be back.

Really good Jamaican food. Portions are big enough for me and my wife to share. I like that, because I like sharing my food when I eat. Taste is really good, nice people, well that day. If you been in enough Jamaican restaurants you know what I mean.

Tried he goat curry and brown chicken stew with the rice and peas and plantains.
Rice and peas and plantains came out very good.
I don't know what to say about the brown chicken stew. They used fried chicken pieces in the stew. Not exactly what I would call authentic Jamaican cooking.

** Oxtail = (4) very good...came with two sides

They should try to always keep at least (1) available. The ones we were interested in trying were the Sweet Potato Pudding; Berry Parfait

Island Pride's Oasis claims to have the most authentic Jamaican food in the area, they are right. I have been lucky to enjoy Jamaican food in Kingston. After eating the oxtails here I almost starting speaking Patwa. The oxtails are described as melting off the bone in a rich stew with beans, carrots, bell peppers, and onions. The flavor they develop in this stew is amazing, so rich and bold. Now the oxtails are a bit expensive, the dinner is about $17 but so worth it and it includes one side. I got the creamed spinach as a side and paid extra for a side of greens. I loved the cream spinach

The food is really good except the collards greens. They should change collards greens and put callaloo on the menu instead like most Jamaican spot. Those were some of the worse collards greens I have ever tasted.
They need to improve their customer service. Tables need to be wiped down before customers are seated and utensils deliver when customers get to their table. We had to ask for the utensils and drinks after we got our foods and the young waitress was very distracted, she was snacking as she took our order. She seems very unorganized.
I gave 2 stars because the waitress was not good.

Minutes when I ordered a 6 person Togo meal. Lol but the lady that works there during the lunch hour is super sweet and friendly!
I have been here about 3 more times after the first time I visited. If you want a good meal? Come here!! Their goat is better than the ox tail. The ox tail barely has ANY MEAT on the bone. They shouldn't charge that much for oxtail as their is nothing but bone and fat. The goat? Is tender and the gravy is tasty!! I love their Cream spinach and coconut rice

Stopped in from work on a lunch break , this was so good I went two days in a row. I had the oxtails both days , they had butter beans and carrots in it . You get two sides, the sides I chose were rice and peas and plantain. The meat in the oxtail dish had so much flavor and the right amount of spice and sauce , and may i add their was a large portion . My guest had the goat roti, full of flavor , extra sauce was given on the side . If you are not familiar with roti , the best comparison would be a burrito .
