ABS Service : The ABS (anti-lock brake system) is a safety system that stops your vehicle from sliding when you apply the brakes. There are two main components: the ABS speed sensors and the ABS control module. When the brake is on, the ABS control module reads the speed data from the speed sensor and sends the correct pressure to each wheel to prevent any sliding/skidding (wheels locking up).

We have a 2004 Nissan 350Z in mint condition that developed a very peculiar short when starting. The The vehicle had been to a total of three repair shops and no one could find the short. We brought it to Jake's automotive and dealt with Pete and after a trial and error. They found the problem that involved a good deal of investigation. During the process, Pete was forthright and pertinent with all communication and most of all honest. Everyone else at this location including the folks in the office were professional and very polite. I would highly recommend Jake's automotive in Bradenton

Hands down one of the best places to take your car! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and nice and caring and listen to your needs. I have been In the car industry for a long time now and I understand why this company is still in business they treat you right and are honest ,as well as being extremely knowledgeable about cars. They have taken care of me and I'm glad I have found my new shop to take all my cars and my friends and family. It's hard to find a honest shop that cares about you and your car. You don't need to look anymore this is the best place for your car and your piece of mind

First time around took it in price was reasonable and everything went smoothly. Second time around I take my truck in for a new radiator and every single part used was marked up an extremely large amount. I understand everyone has to make money but charging 100$ more for a radiator is not justifiable when already charging me for labor. 20$ a gallon for coolant that cost 10? 18$ for a radiator cap that cost 5$? Then another 40$ in misc shop supplies? Quick service but not worth the up charge.

Took my Mustang Cobra in to Jake's for an alignment after replacing the factory steel K frame and lower control arms, with a tube K frame, a arms , cool over struts kit and bump steer kit. Dropped it of late morning and they had it ready for me late afternoon the same day. Car drives straight as an arrow and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend Jake's Automotive.

Brought my C5 Vette in running awful. Received it back a week later running perfect. Car is a base FRC which I put an ls6 top end, Texas Speed camshaft, intake/exhaust/gears/etc. Tuned myself until I lost MAF and IAT inputs due to wiring issues I could not figure out. The Jake's team diagnosed the issues, corrected, and updated my tune on the dyno. Great service, easy to work with, and quality results. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Thanks guys!

Very prompt service. I had a scary incident happen across the street and they took my car for me right away and fixed it up! It was quick with a fair price. They also took the time to explain what happened to me and how I can respond in the future. They helped calm me down, which is beyond their jobs. Jake's clearly cares about their community and providing a great service.

Great shop. They will do the mechanic check after oil change and show you what is wrong. They also keep your car clean when they do the work. The only difference is they use the mileage when they do the work rather than next oil change mileage.
Update 100518:
I just found they used the wrong oil. For my car it should be 5w-30 but they used 5w-20. I’m not sure if it will make anything wrong but I would like to follow the manual.

I contacted this so called best mechanic in Bradenton to fix my car and I was rejected. Direct words from the mechanic, " I do not know what is wrong with your car and I do not want it to sit here if the price comes up to over $2000 to fix it." I think it would be relevant for me to bring my car over there and have him/her look at it. That what mechanics ask for you to do. I am perplex, and I don't know why he was being so contemptuous with me and my car. Is it because of the color of my skin or because I look poor or something? This post doesn't even deserve a one star.

I was really low on air and Yelp didn't yet know that the Goodyear dealer across the street closed 5 years ago...shame on us!
Anyway, I stopped here needing help and they delivered happily. The ASE certified mechanic took the time to check all four tires and had me slowly back up to look for a nail in the low one. He even offered to pull it off and do a dunk test. After some good advice and a handshake, he wouldn't even accept a tip for the free service!
Knowing that I was just passing through town with out-of-state plates and never likely to return made this act of kindness even
