Western Steer Steakhouse

The food was a little pricy. It took about 20-25 minutes to get our food. My hamburger steak was good but the cornbread was hard and not good. I love macaroni and theirs was not ateable. This was the first time ever eating here. I would maybe give it another try but not sure.

My wife and I went to Western Steer for lunch today. Ordered the 8 oz Sirloin after about 20 minutes the waitress came to our table to inform us the steaks were frozen. Someone forgot to set them out to thaw. We decided to wait for the food both steaks needed help. Steak sauce was a must. Wait staff was nice (not their fault). Rest of food was cold or had been reheated. Bad food and alot of it.

The food is always fresh, hot and delicious. Since their buffet is back open we eat there at least 3 times per month.

Delicious homestyle buffet! Everyone is super friendly. This is definitely my new favorite place to eat when I get to visit family and friends in the area. There wasn't anything on the buffet, that I tried, that I didn't like. Oh, and the sweet tea was perfection!

Weekend bar cost more plus they had no fish. All they had was left over turkey and chicken. The hamburger steak was all that. Food is better at lunch. Second time was eating there , will not eat there for supper again. Salad bar was the only thing worth eating.

What a fine in Newton NC. I haven't eaten here in years. Didn't know they were still open. Food was delicious. Staff very friendly and the prices are great.

The food here is awesome but there's one waitress that flirts with my man every time we go here to eat really how disrespectful can you be and a lot of the times we have the kids and she doesn't care she makes it a point to do so. So one day I'm going to come in there in a bad mood and that b is getting a cussing! You can plainly see he is taken and has been for 13 years!!

I had the salad bar and buffet which I felt was very much overpriced for the quality of food served. Much of food was under seasoned and some was seasoned with bacon grease which tasted stale. The fried chicken looked done on the outside but was pink on the inside. The brownies and cake on the dessert bar were dry and crumbly. One positive was the server. She was very good and attentive to the diners. I doubt that I will be returning to dine here.

Wanted to go out and eat after church and tried Granny's Kitchen but they were closed. I thought of Western Steer and we went there instead. We got there at 3 pm and missed the luncheon price of $9.99 as the price went up to $12.99 a plate at 3 pm. I tried a variety of items from the buffet and all were good. The coconut cake was not moist, but the fried chicken was good. I've not been here in a while but I will return another day and be there for the luncheon price.

I have lots of memories here. Been coming here for 30 years. American comfort food, buffet style. The buffet is consistent, it does lack variety but it’s good. Breakfast buffet on weekends. Waitresses are very nice and you don’t run out of drink. Very prompt. I recommend Western Steer.
Edit; we just had lunch here today, and it was excellent. We had Billie as our waitress and she was very prompt. We had fresh drinks before we had to ask. Great service. Just had lunch here today and we got the best waitress once again “Billie”. Great service great food.
