Here at CogniCare we believe that caring for your mental health is imperative. Whether you're motivated and ready to work on a specific goal or introspective and curious about further exploring yourself, mental health therapy may be right for you. Our therapists are multiculturally competent and identity affirming.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT is a short-term, problem-focused form of behavioral treatment that helps people see the difference between beliefs, thoughts and feelings, and free them from unhelpful patterns of behavior. CBT is grounded in the belief that it is a person's perception of events - rather than the events themselves - that determines how he or she will feel and act in response.
There are many factors that motivate people to seek therapy. Perhaps you're dealing with a major life transition, quarter/mid-life crisis, struggling with depression or anxiety, or wanting to process a traumatic experience. Talk therapy can assist in gaining greater self-knowledge and personal growth.
It is common for couples to experience difficulties. This is especially true during times of major transition, such as moving, losing a loved one, changing careers, having children, etc. You may have also had a partner betray you, or who was emotionally absent during a time of need. Feeling hurt within your relationship can often trigger unhealthy patterns that are difficult to identify and change.
Polyamory or "many loves" refers to consensually non-monogamous relationships. Here at Cognicare, we understand the unique dynamics often in play within these relationships and can provide an experienced and competent clinician to assist with your needs.

If you are considering the possibility of opening up a monogamous relationship, dealing with current trust issues or just trying to gain communication and coping skills within your relationship, we can help. The goal is to assist in managing conflict, strengthening communication and negotiating agreements that are satisfactory to all parties.

I took my 3 1/2 year old daughter who was having HORRIFIC TANTRUMS to see Ashley for play therapy, within a month the tantrums became less frequent and less severe, Ashley taught my daughter how to express herself without acting out, she also taught me as a parent how to properly deal with these tantrum’s. Overall I would say it took around 3 months for the tantrums to completely stop. Ashley is AMAZING and I would recommend her to anyone that is struggling with their child’s behavior. Also her staff is extremely kind and warm hearted. Every time I brought my daughter in to see Ashley the front
