Richard Wingerden's interest in the legal profession was sparked while he was an undergraduate in political science at San Jose State University. His legal experience began in 1991 when he worked as an intern for the Santa Clara County Public Defender's Office. This position provided him with firsthand experience in the criminal justice system, which solidified his commitment to the legal profession.

My husband and I were in an unfortunate situation and needed representation. For months before hiring Richard, the courts had my husband and I back and forth because they would "misplace" documents (three times).
