Born in Lebanon and raised in Boston, Ramzi Zahr learned the restaurant business from family, working his way through the ranks from the ground up. As a kid, when I told my Uncle I wanted to work in his restaurant, I envisioned something cool, or lucrative, like serving tables. I thought I could just jump in.
Well, he had different plans for me, " says Zahr. "He made me wash dishes, clean floors, and take out garbage, and he paid me minimum wage." he laughs, "but it taught me a lot about hard work, and earning my position." From then on, Zahr worked his way through almost every restaurant position, providing him invaluable insight into each cog of the intricate machine that is any successful restaurant.

Let me just say, the restaurant was not close to busy. We ordered a boat for appetizer, and two meals and drinks.
The side salad arrived before the drinks which came 2 at a time for a table of 4.
The main courses came before the appetizer boat which took 40 minutes. After everyone finished their meal one person had ordered 2 rolls which took 90 minutes to arrive. During all this time our waiter came to the table once. Mash potatoes were stone cold rice was hard. Kefkas were average at best. Horrible experience and way over priced.
Million places in Miami to spend your money in this place.

Sawa is definitely the best restaurant if you want to feel comfortable and laid back. There is so much to choose from on the menu and for such a big menu, all of the food tastes great. Kate was my waitress and she was great. So kind and attentive :). Definitely recommend for any occasion, such a great environment.

Went there for Miami Spice and the food was excellent, even with the limited Miami Spice menu we all had a hard time deciding what to get. Everyone loved the Crispy Quail (wings), so much so that no one would share them with me but boy did they rave about them! I had the Duck A La Bleu and it was very good, not fatty like some duck can be and not dry either. The Churrasco with guasacaca sauce was so good too and a nice switch from the typical chimichurri.
