With scraped up funds and scrappy spirits he built a small Chinese takeout restaurant that grew to the seven Canton Chinese locations. His eldest son, Abe Ng followed in his entrepreneurial-footsteps and after college returned home to Miami to take the Ng family's next leap of faith: Opening the first-ever Sushi Maki.
His goal? Make sushi the next big thing in Miami. Luckily sushi newbies and know-it-alls alike urged us to keep on rollin' and we went from one sushi shop in South Miami to opening additional restaurants in Coral Gables, Palmetto Bay, Miami International Airport, Kendall, Whole Foods Market Stations and University Shops.

I've been to this location twice . The very first time , the waitress had told me that rice would come with the honey chicken meal . Than by the end of our conversation she had told me that it would cost me extra for the rice . I payed for it and didn't think twice . I even left a tip . With the price of the meal that would cost more . She comes outside with my meal with two sides of rice . They refund me my money. Yup she still received that same tip. I got over it , and decided to go back . The food is good. When I came back . I had ordered by myself with a machine , because I didn

I had been ordering from Canton Chinese Restaurant for an extremely long time. I am not exactly sure why I ever stopped so I gave it another try. I ordered the Honey Garlic Chicken, the Wonton Soup, and 2 Egg Rolls.
I loved how the Honey Garlic Chicken in a bucket, which allowed the honey to drip on down to the bottom without being messy when we took it out. The chicken was extremely crispy and held the crisp even when served as leftovers. There was a perfect amount of garlic and honey. I have to say that this was even better than I had remembered! The Egg Rolls were also crispy. Since I ordered

I have been going here since I was a kid this was a Miami staple for almost 40 years especially with the Jade gardens apartments being right behind it I used to imagine as a kid that ninjas lived next to the Chinese place. Since reopening I came with my parents I am
appalled at the sterilized gentrified sushi place that has replaced it. The food was cold and terrible and the only vaguely familiar thing you guys had left was the canton steak and it's not even the same size as it used to be. Now I have to rely more on Chef Chen in Kendall for the closer to canton experience. Avoid this place

Lmao I like what that other person said. This place looks like a sushi burger King. What a joke.
I've been coming here since I was a kid. It was the best Chinese restaurant in miami. Now, sadly, it is a Sushi Maki.
If I wanted sushi maki, I'd go to whole foods.
Lost a life long customer over a stupid decision.

What did you do? You remodeled and it looks like a sushi Burger King.
There are 6 sushi restaurants within 3-4 miles (another Sushi Maki in South Miami) so why do we have another? There are NO good chinese restaurants anywhere until you get to Bird Road. You wasted your money on another sushi place as we need Chinese !!! Canton has been there for 25 years and we eat there every other week. We will never go to this Burger King looking Sushi place. Go back to Chinese.

Flavorless, rock-hard grease balls served as orange and honey chicken. Obviously a rushed, overcooked meal that, although I was starving, couldn't even bring myself to finish. Egg roll arrived in a pool of its own grease. Just awful and undeniably the worse Chinese food I've ever had. Avoid at all costs - especially if delivering.

My travel sisters and I was looking for a good authentic Chinese restaurant and came across Canton Chinese Restaurant. We were highly impressed with everything we ordered including the appetizers! Their service was top notch and the price was reasonable. When you're in Miami, make sure you visit & thank me later! 🤩

Fist visit was for lunch. For 9 something plus tax you get an impressive amount of food, and it was wonderful. The best hot and sour soup ($1 upgrade on lunch special but worth it!) I have had in Florida, the main was delicious and the eggrolls were some of the freshest and best I have ever had. Friendly and attentive service as Will definitely be back again.

I walked to this Chinese restaurant it was amazing presentation was amazing. We had the two ribs and a spring roll to eat they were very courteous about my food allergy. Our server was really good and funny so was the rest of the staff. You can tell they work really hard. I love this place ! Came back a second time after a long drive from Orlando and the service was on point they don't disappoint.

Chinese takeout exists for those nights that you plan on staying home and doing nothing with your life. I associate this notion with Canton as they're the friendly, neighborhood delivery-man serving up all the basics.
You can't go wrong with Canton if you're looking for a last-minute dinner solution. The restaurant works fast and provides a quick turn around even when taking large orders for pickup. You may need to leave the house immediately after hanging up the phone just to make it on time! There's usually plenty of free parking spaces outside the restaurant, by the way

Wow. Ordered from Postmates delivery, order was very quick to be prepared but so terrible I didn't even want to eat my dinner. The egg roll was swimming in grease, and the Mongolian beef was so flavorless I added some chopped scallions I had in my fridge. I could have made better Chinese food at home.

Everywhere you go there is a typical Chinese restaurant perfect for takeout. That is Canton for me in this area.
I always order and pretty much leave my house within a couple of minutes because the orders typically only take 15 minutes to prepare. I am always greeted by who I believe is the owner and she swiftly gets me in and out with my takeout.
No matter what else I order I always have to eat their honey chicken. The chicken always looks tasty and I love how the sauce comes on the side so you can decide how much you want or in my case just use it for dipping.
