The room was small and had a stain on the ceiling. The chair was ripped and the fridge was tiny, half size. The best thing was the bed, which was very comfy. BTW the pillows were half stuffed.

My room had bed bugs. Woke up with bites and seeing one on one of the beds.
Did not offer to comp my stay. "I'll notify management" was all and they hung up.
2nd star for location.

It's always a pleasure staying at Sands by the Sea Motel. The staff is friendly. And the rooms are clean. Although I did notice some exterior work on the building. It look like it was falling apart on the outside. And it was a little scary sleeping on the bottom floor. When the walls look like they were hit by a heavy earthquake. Other than that. The staff is friendly the continental breakfast is yummy. And I have no complaints.

The room is nice and basic. Other then that everything else is at the Cavalier Resort. Including all ocean views, continental breakfast which is only coffee and toast, and pool. The beach is a short walk.

Hotel is one star and it shows. Not clean and outdated. Breakfast consisted on two pieces of toast. Would not recommend this hotel.

The location is nice but the customer service is not the best.
I made a reservation on Expedia for a certain price, but then I had to adjust the length of my stay. I called the hotel to ask about the change. They said it was fine but then the hotel raised the rate of one of my nights by $100, I guess to make up for the money of my reservation change? The staff was not helpful with this issue. I had to go in and talk to them several times to fix the price issue. On top of that, no one picks up the phone. So the only way to talk to anyone is to go into the office in person. This added stress to

Stars are for the location. Love that it's right on the beach and dog friendly (5 stars for that). Other than that it needs work. Rooms are old and musty, the bathroom smells sour. The carpet and furniture are showing signs of wear and tear. Pillows are garbage, thin and bumpy. The front desk staff cannot be bothered if you need something like towels be prepared to wait or never get it. The pictures they show online are definitely deceptive. It is nice that the rooms come with a microwave and mini fridge though. Also there's no AC they told us to open the windows but room was still stuffy.

Had a great time at Sands by the Sea! Comfortable beds and warm heaters. Easy access to the beach which is nice cause we got to walk through at night. There's fire pits, benches to sit and enjoy the view, oversized checkers, and chess games to play not far from the water. Beautiful scenery! We'll definitely be back!
