Seaside Motel
Tiny Cayucos is a haven for surfers, fishing and water sports enthusiasts. Yet, artists, beachcombers and city-dwellers escaping from busy urban areas have fled to the Seaside Motel, for years. Non-surfing visitors will find a host of antique shops, restaurants, and taverns along the "old California" main street.

The long, uncluttered, white sandy beach is home to the Cayucos pier-built in 1875-and beloved by sandcastle builders, sunbathers, and romantics. Our remedy for what ails most people is simple: at the Seaside we recommend plenty of rest, strolls down long lovely beaches, sampling of great food and fabulous local wines, and reading a good book while the great Pacific Ocean is aflame with sunset colors.
Services
Each room at the Seaside Motel is individually decorated, each with it's own unique character and decor. Rooms are available with king-sized beds, double queen beds, kitchenettes and multiple-room suites. Soothe your soul in the Seaside's charming cottage garden with its delightful colors, fragrances and textures.
The famous Country Home magazine went Antiquing. They picked up their bags and traveled to the Central Coast of California in search of the best junk - read antiques - in the west. Rick and I have been so blessed this past year with TWO granddaughters! Reese is such a go-getter! Already learning to stand, at 9 months!
Rick and I are thrilled to be the grandparents of FOUR adorable grandchildren! Rusty and Renee now have two daughters, Rooney Jane and Henley Sunday, about three years apart. Rocky and Ali have a girl and a boy, Reese Violet and Ryan Jett, also about three years apart! We are so blessed. Rick as always is my handyman, installing new carpets, renovating bathrooms, fixing this and building that!

Amazing property! Very clean, neat and orderly. From my initial email and phone call, I only have great comments. Everyone was helpful, professional, cheerful and excited that we were staying at their property. Location is great, easy walk to the beach and downtown Cayucos. The theme of our room was "Tea for Two" and was spacious and very comfortable. I highly recommend this place!
The outside garden area is beautiful and friendly! Bar-B-Ques are available for guest use! Smudge the cat only adds to the charm and fun of your stay! Also, great coffee in the room!
Will definitely return

Very cozy comfortable rooms with fantastic service. The owners are kind, welcoming, and incredibly hardworking. The patio has a beautiful view of the ocean with tons of chairs to sit in and enjoy your coffee around some gorgeous flowers and succulents. Close walking distance to everything in Cayucos and close driving distance to everything else nearby. A wonderful location with comfortable clean and happy rooms!

I've been staying at the Seaside Motel in Cayucos for over 30 years, along with my mom and dad before me and my sisters and their families.

Rebecca and Rick have maintained this little treasure impeccably and consistently. Each space is lovingly and artfully cared for.

In a world that is constantly changing, I love that our favorite place on the central coast remains the same; comfortable and inviting, spotless and always cozy.

Thank you Rick and Rebecca for making your corner of the world amazing and for sharing it with us.

Stayed for 2 nights on a quick getaway to Cayucos (my favorite town). Decided to give this place a try after positive reviews and so happy I did!!! Was planning on staying only a night but enjoyed my room and the price so decided on enjoying one more night. Met both owners and felt like family right away. The room was cozy and clean and that's all I needed. This will be my new go to for my Cayucos weekend - thank you for continuing to hold on to family owned business high quality and integrity need more places like this - Best Sarah

Have stayed here a couple times now and it's a wonderful family owned and operated motel. The landscaping in the back garden is absolutely perfect. It's a perfect retreat after a long day. The artistic design of the outside as well as the themed rooms are sure to please and bring a sense of relaxation, homey feeling as well as the perfect pricing make this place top notch. I look forward to every stay I get to experience. It's a perfect place to stay when I travel from LA to San Fran. Thank you Seaside for everything you do to make this place a perfect seaside resort, a hidden gem.

We loved our 5-night November stay at the Seaside Motel! Our family of four really enjoyed the property esp the garden. We ate our breakfast out there every morning. We loved walking to the beach and into town. Seaside has a perfect location! Wonderful owners who are so nice! They take such good care of the motel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. We definitely will book another stay at Seaside!

My family and I have stayed here twice now. As far as we are concerned, this is the only place we will stay in Cayucos. The husband and wife that own and take care of this place do an exemplary job. We just celebrated my birthday here. We had a barbecue out in their garden, that overlooks the ocean. They provided the Grill (Weber) the charcoal (Kingsford) and the lighter fluid. We kicked back, listened to some music, and had a great dinner, and all the while sitting in a garden like setting that looks like it was cut out of the garden of Eden.

The rooms are clean and well managed. Our kitchen

The cutest, sweetest motel ever!

We loved our one night stay here! On a road trip and didn't like Morro Bay so went onto Cayucos. Luckily we got the last couple of rooms at the Seaside Motel. I was in Room #9 (my lucky number too) and it was adorable. Comfortable, sweet, super clean and functional - just like being at grandma's house. I would come back here in a heartbeat. Super location - walking distance from town and beach. We could hear the waves crashing from our room. Adorable little back garden with seating. Adjacent clothes line was great for drying beach towels and

Very pleased with this motel. Perfect price for the value. Clean room with sufficient amenities and the staff is very kind and welcoming. For a small motel in a centrally located area of town, it's very peaceful and quiet, too. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others :)

This place was so nice and friendly, definitely a "Ma & Pa" place! Especially because the sweetest Ma and Pa run the place! Walking distance to the beach and our 4 kiddos didn't mind that one bit! Will be staying every time we come to town!

We stayed for one night and completely loved everything about this place. The garden behind the motel was super nice and lovely. The garden has a lot of chairs and a view of the ocean. The back gate lead to a 1 minute walk to the ocean . Each room has a theme, which is very cute. The rooms are super clean and have almost a full kitchen . Awesome place to stay!! We are making plans to go back .

My boyfriend and I happened across this amazing motel on our way home from camping.
I almost did not want to leave a review because it's like our little hidden secret getaway!

First of all, the rooms are all different. So very cozy, like sleeping at your grandma's house or a quaint bed and breakfast. Super clean and easy parking. The patio and all the birdhouses in the back make you feel like you are sitting in your own private oasis.

You can even BBQ in the back yard!
We have a trip planned again soon, this will be our 4th visit here and we will not stay anywhere else! Love the SEASIDE

Update: I returned and it's even better than I remember! I stayed 4 nights this time and had a chance to really appreciate the super comfortable bed, the beautiful well-loved garden sitting area, and the proximity to the beach. I got a room with a kitchenette and sitting area and it was small but perfect. The bathroom was roomy though, and there were lots of fluffy towels! It really is a perfect little Seaside motel.

I really love this kind of non-chain, locally owned, quirky little motel. The location was great, and the room was just right - small but clean, with personality

This place is so charming and cozy!! I loved this place! It was a home away from home kind of feeling. I definitely recommend you stay here to have that cozy beach life. Each room has its own theme. I stayed at the fish place room and it was just darling. My friend stayed in the Purple Haze room and it was also adorable. Their coffee inside the room was delish and their outside patio is decorated country garden style. The best part of staying here is walking outside and smelling the ocean breeze. This is great place to stay!

I hate to be a "Debbie Downer" here but I don't understand all the rave reviews.

I know it's only a motel and I've stayed in plenty in my travels but I just thought it was ok. We stayed in the "Purple Haze" room and maybe purple wasn't my thing or I don't know...it was just ok.

The price was good and the place was clean and so again, I think this place is just all right and hence the 3 stars.

I vacation in Cayucos quite often and I was curious about this place after reading all the reviews on Yelp. I have to say I find it hard to believe all of the positive reviews about this place.

I have never stayed here but just had an encounter on the phone with Rebecca the owner of this motel. I had booked a room over the phone with her husband, (who has a very pleasant demeanor) and due to unforeseeable circumstances I had to cancel and tried to call and email the hotel to let them know that I could not make it.

When I called I spoke to Rebecca and she informed me that she was going to charge

Myself, my husband and our two girls stayed here on our trip down the California coast. We stayed in the Birdhouse Bungalow room for one night. While a little on the small side for the four of us, the room was very clean and comfortable. Our daughters fell in love with all of the decorations in the room. This property isn't on the beach, but is just a very short walk away.
The garden area is beautiful and it was nice to sit with a glass of wine and listen to the ocean. The only thing missing in it is a heat source for the evenings.
