Services
Virginia Eye Consultants has been providing state-of-the-art eyecare to the Hampton Roads community for 55 years. The practice was established in 1963 by John W. Dickerson, who was the first ophthalmic pathologist and oculoplastic surgeon in Norfolk. In 1979, he was joined by corneal specialist Dr. Bruce I. Bodner, who had founded the Lions Eye Bank of Eastern Virginia.
Our mission is to provide the best possible co-management services to the profession of Optometry. Our doctors limit their practice to the treatment of adult ocular disorders and are full-time specialists in the treatment and management of secondary and tertiary care. Our doctors believe in taking a team approach to eye care, collaborating with each other on cases to determine the most effective treatment plan for each patient's needs.

All I can say is this does not feel like a business at all since they are so darn respectful, professional and efficient. It starts from when you enter the facility and you are greeted at the circulation desk by some of the most friendly individuals I have ever encountered. I heard about this location via word of mouth from multiple friends so I had great expectations! I've called and left multiple voice-mails over the last month as well as a message contact on their website so I could schedule a consultation. I haven't received a single call back or correspondence. So I'll be going elsewhere. If they cant return calls for a consult that worries me that they won't return calls if there's any questions after the procedure as well. I understand that we are in a pandemic still and places are understaffed so I made sure to give extra time for a response but a month is

Dr. Sheppard was very informative and explained everything in detail so that I understood the procedure. The staff was very nice and professional. The office was clean and everything was very organized. From the time I walked into the door until I left, they escorted me through each step. They even offered snacks, coffee and drinks. They initially told me my appointment would be three hours, but it ended up being 5 plus hours. But to be honest I was so impressed with everything about the visit that I didn't realized I was there that long.

If you want to feel like a number, wait 10 minutes on hold, never get a call back, spend 2 hours for a visit and 1 1/2 hours in a chair waiting, or have your surgery cancelled 12 hours before surgery these are you people.

Your company cancelled by surgery 12 hours before the surgery. To be honest it might have been partly my fault, but I should have been notified before the last minute.
