Love the location of this office, and the physician was great, but for my first appointment I was a little disappointed. The staff made me feel very rushed (mainly front desk) I understand I was one of the last patient of the day, but coming from experience working in a physicians office myself the last thing we want is for our patients to feel rushed. Leslie in optical was amazing!

I can’t say enough how wonderful everyone was. From the reception to the optical shop. Everyone was extremely helpful and kind to my 7 year old daughter who was actually the patient. Dr. Gratkowski and her scribe/technician Danielle were amazing! They were so patient with my daughter through the exam. They really listened to her concerns as well as mine. It was well worth the 45 minute drive from Elizabeth City, NC.

I would give zero for this provider if it is lowest. Do NOT COME HERE. Your valuable time WILL be waisted. After read the reviews here, I was deceived to give this provider a try for my family. My daughter's first visit was 6/23/2021. Everyone was professional, courteous and patient. Definitely a place that is perfect for kids. Very thorough for an initial visit and knowledgeable. No wait time. Answered all of my questions and ensured that I was informed about next steps for my daughter. I highly recommend this place for eye care services for small children.

Everyone was super friendly and helpful! I hadn’t been to the eye doctor in a while and they listened to all of my concerns and questions and I never once felt rushed. I was able to get contacts and glasses and I was never pressured into purchasing anything too expensive. They helped me with finding the best frames for the best price! The office was super clean as well!

Great service and very willing to answer any questions you may have. Eye exam is extensive and not rushed with any findings explained in a manner that allows patients to make informed decisions about next steps. Eye treatments options are considered as a team effort involving the patient, their very knowledge office, and inclusive of your primary care physician too. Many family members are patients there dating back to their prior office. Nice facility and we'll maintained.

Dr.Teten was super sweet and was able to answer my questions regarding the health of my eyes with ease which is the main reason why I have to give 3 stars. The Optical Technicians I worked with were good as well. However, some of the front desk staff definitely needs better social skills. Suzanne especially, became very defensive, dismissive, and flustered when I asked questions regarding insurance coverage for my services. I found this to be odd and unsettling as she appears to be a billing coordinator for the practice. Overall, the doctor was sweet but front desk definitely left a bad taste

I've been coming here for over a year now. I'm not sure if I've already written a review but I'm writing one now.
I've dealt with EVEA for myself and my son. I've had a vision exam here as well as purchasing classes for myself. Exam wise I recommend 100%. However, I would NOT RECOMMEND this place for glasses.
My son has had numerous vision and eye testing here. He currently has vision therapy every Tuesday for 12 months. They're giving him excellent care for this. You do have to pay out of pocket, they do not accept insurance and it's extremely expensive

This place is amazing. The facility is state of the art, clean, and safe with the appropriate COVID precautions in place. The staff is professional, accommodating (especially for folks like me who have been avoiding eye appts for years) and knowledgeable. Dr Swatts is great and took the time to explain my conditions in words I could actually understand.

We've been going here for years - the whole family. We've consistently dropped hundreds of dollars each year adding up to thousands over the years on prescription glasses for the whole family with them as well. However, while we've been relatively happy with the annual exam visits, I recently called to ask for the pupillary distance on my prescription so I could order a pair of sports glasses, which they carry a VERY limited selection of. I never have problems with this place at all. That is with the Drs. Their front office staff is awful!! Today is 11/28/17 and the blonde girl that is in the front desk was real rude!! It was about 4pm when I went in & she was giving bad looks at the patient in front of me. Then when I walked up, she acted bothered by my presence. About 2 years ago I had a problem with their front desk people as well. They over charged me and my visit was denied so I had to pay out of my own pocket. I called and all they said was "sorry". I am so glad I found this place. The staff is totally top notch! I had zero wait time. The front desk was polite and efficient. The techs were friendly and cheerful. They really knew their stuff as well. Dr. Swatts is wonderful. Very personable and thorough when explaining my eyes and conditions. This was my first trip to an optometrist and I have to say I had a very pleasant experience. Every employee I encountered was friendly and helpful. My optometrist was very thorough and genuinely concerned with answering my questions to the fullest of her abilities and making my visit as pleasant as possible. While I did not see the Dr here I did purchase my glasses from them. I'm not sure if the reason I don't see well out of them is the way they measure them and your eyes, but this is probably the worse pair of glasses I've ever had. I am also needing to have them adjusted constantly and I probably only wear them a couple times a week.
On top of that, the gals they had working for them are no longer there and they now have some know-it-all condescending guy doing the adjustments.
I won't be back and the next pair of glasses I buy won't be at this place either.
