Very fair and honest. Complete diagnostic with bad news but said it how it was with a priority level. I was told what should be done first and what could wait. If you want to find out what is wrong with you car, call Bill. And Bill stored my car for 5 days because of some confusion with AAA and didn't try to jack me on storage fees.

Drive shaft seperated because mechanic reused stretch bolts and didn't follow mfr torque specifications.
Clutch repair was solid but reassembly of drive train was done with old bolts and an impact driver instead of with new fasteners and a torque wrench. One drive shaft separated outside NAPA warranty period while every drive shaft to transmission bolt on both shafts were loose. Hub/axle bolts were also well below mfr spec. Inspection missed that the inner cv casing was punctured in separation incident. Fwiw NAPA warranty DOES NOT COVER negligent reassembly of components not replaced in

I was overheating on my way into San Diego to visit my family. I stopped and put antifreeze in. I was on my way for a short trip to OfficeMax the next day when the engine temp light came on YET AGAIN. Clearly I had a leak so I googled the nearest Mini Cooper mechanic and Import Auto came up. I called them and they agreed to let me bring my car over immediately. I explained to them the situation. They were incredibly accommodating. 2012 Subaru Legacy with an electronic parking brake not engaging. I called several shops all of whom mentioned they don’t work on an electronic parking brake and I should go to a dealer. Excellent updates from the staff throughout the repair. Detailed explanation and estimates of worst case scenario and what they thought after initial inspection. They told me what they thought they had to do, did not charge me parts/ replacements that turned out unnecessary, and made it right the first go - very quickly. Thanks very much.

This was the best car repair experience so far. From the moment Bill answered the phone and i explained the nature of the problem, I felt my Volkswagen Tiguan SE would be in good hands with Import Auto Specialist and their service proved to be impeccable. They looked at the car shortly after it was towed and send full diagnostic report highlighting what needs to get looked at first.

I used Auto Remedies for years and YEARS and when (sadly) Gary retired he took the time to look into other auto services and not leave his customers hanging. This is the first time I have used IAS and I'm happy with the service that I received. The Courtesy Inspection report was something that I have never seen before and felt was thorough with photos. I called Bill multiple times and he always took the time to answer my questions. Hopefully, the service I received will continue. They have some BIG shoes to fill after using Auto Remedies.

IF YOU WALK IN THE DOOR HERE YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN SCAMMED!!
Spent 2.5k to get a cat converter replaced. 2 days later I got error codes (shown in photos) telling me my new cat converter was having issues. Take it back to the shop and because they "could only duplicate the misfires once" it was beyond their knowledge and abilities. WAIT? You just replaced it, why is there ANY issue?!
Also strange because I am not a mechanic but am able to duplicate the issue every time. Maybe they are bad at their jobs? Seems likely. If the mechanic wasn't so nice by telling me on camera Bill lied

I'm very picky when it comes to places to work and fix anything on my Audi. I previously had all my work done at the Audi dealership. A few month ago I researched highly rated repair shops online to get my brakes repaired. I came across IAS reviews on google and Yelp and was impressed with the positive feedback. Bill is amazing. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. I was very satisfied with the work on my brakes and went back today to get a maintenance service done. Again great work at a reasonable price. I will continue to get additional work done when needed. I highly recommend this place

LONG OVER DUE. I Have been taking my Acura here for over 2 1/2 years. I have never been so please with the overall service and outcome. I never have to worry about the work being done. They truly care about the work they do as well as their costumers. Brian and Bill have always been so honest and have helped me out tremendously. Today, for being a long time customer they did a free pre-inspection on my new vehicle. I can not thank them enough for what they do. I will continue bringing my vehicle to Import Auto Specialists for as long as I am in San Diego and keep referring everyone I know.
