What is a fence stile? A fence stile is a set of stairs that go up one side of a fence and down the other so you can have passage through or over the fence without a gate. At Fence Stile Vineyards and Winery, it's a symbol where guests, friends, and neighbors spend time together with wine. Fence Stile Vineyards and Winery is located 40 minutes from downtown Kansas City.
Winemaker Shriti Plimpton will hand-select wines each month that enable guests to explore a wide range from our estate-produced wines. Each monthly selection will include detailed notes about the wine. Guests may opt to join both the Winemaker's Select Wine Club and Legacy Wine Club (details below), or enjoy the benefits of their preferred club.

Inspired by an ancient custom where lovers lock a padlock on a gate or fence and throw away the key symbolically locking their love forever, adding a Love Lock to the Fence Stile Love Lock wall is a great way to celebrate your love. These locks can be found around the world from the Pacific-rim to romantic cities in France, Italy & Spain.
Seyval Blanc (say-vahl) - This hybrid can compete with some of the finest dry white wines made from Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. Well suited to cool climates, this popular French-American hybrid is the second-most planted vine in England, behind Muller-Thurgau. The variety is also popular in Canada and the eastern U.S., particularly New York State.

This place is fantastic! The owner makes everyone feel like family, and the environment is extremely friendly. There are multiple sitting areas for both inside and outside seating. The garden is beautiful. The wine and alcohol selection is delicious and all the wine is made in house, of course. There are also tours available. Highly recommend trying the guava sangria! The meat and cheese platter was also great! You can tell that the owner puts her heart and soul into making this business a great one in both customer service, as well as making great wine (with a seemingly endless wine list) This

Talk about ownership that goes above and beyond to accommodate their patrons. We were in town, but not during their regular business hours. They indulged my request for a bottle of red and a new glass, which is my favorite to use!!

We recently went on a tour here during a quick weekend trip. It was fantastic! Pete, our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. We love finding local spots that are true to who they are and what they believe in. You can tell by the fantastic, yet unique, wine and the family like atmosphere this winery is just that. Will be placing this on our recommendation list for all!

We booked the wine cave and tasting tour during the week and it was a great time. Group of 4 guests only, got to taste lots of great wines and heard about the history of the winery. If you are staying in the area, definitely check this place out for a tasting or tour. The Elms offers shuttles there.

Found this winery when searching for small event venues, and although we had to re-plan our wedding/reception about 1,000 times - every thing Shriti helped us with made the situation so much easier.
From booking the initial event, to coordinating with area hotels, and an engagement tasting event/photo shoot, this winery and location was a dream.
We had to downsize and cancel our event here, but highly recommend this team for anything from a lovely afternoon, to a once in a lifetime event.
P.S. - The wine is fantastic too!

As I visit more and more small successful wineries they've all had one thing in common...intelligent, passionate owner's who want to create a fun, lasting memory for every customer! Fence Stile Vineyards has just a wonderful vibe starting with the beautiful rolling grounds that host their vineyard to their well thought out tasting rooms and patios. There are so many thoughtful little details throughout this winery that it's impossible to list them all here, but you'll see them during your visit.

Gem of a winery! We so enjoyed the Fermentation Tour And Tasting.. Thus is a rarely offered tour, do yourself a favor and check it out! I am a wine novice but I found the tasting/tour to be very interesting. The winery it's self is adorable. Beautiful setting. The staff incredibly friendly. My non wine drinking husband even found a wine he loved, He was so impressed he is planing a virtual corporate event. They also offer a sweet little lock of love wall

If you are into wine, take the winery tour. Pete was extremely kind and knowledgable and answered all of the tour's questions. Shriti's commitment to letting the grapes produce what they produce is admirable and adds authenticity to the entire endeavor.
And the results are wonderful. I generally do not love Missouri wines, but I walked away with two bottles in hand.
