Downtown Dance Factory is Tribeca's first comprehensive dance center. Since moving to our new, purpose-renovated studios in 2010, we also offer cardio/dance for adults too! Downtown Dance Factory follows in the "dance steps" of our highly successful sister school in Sydney Australia, The Jazz Factory.
Our aim is to foster a love of dance and a freedom of self-expression through movement, through any number of dance styles and techniques. Enjoyment is absolutely our number one priority, however all students are encouraged to develop their dance style and technique to their full potential, no matter their age or level of dance experience.

Services
Downtown Dance Factory offers classes in jazz, hip hop, ballet, lyrical, tap, breaking and theater dance (see descriptions below). With so many class options each week for girls AND boys, from our littlest 18-month olds to our high school seniors, and with options for adults too*, there's a class at Downtown Dance Factory for everyone!

To all of the amazing teachers and staff at DDF, thank you! We just finished "demo season" with 6 demo classes in all and are just wowed by all the teachers' skill, dedication and passion. And it is that skill, dedication and passion that is becoming instilled in Noa! DDF has been part of our family for the past 6 years, and we couldn't be more delighted!
Downtown Dance Factory's Recitals 2021 were a HUGE success! We danced in the clouds in a raw, open space at the World Trade Center overlooking our beautiful New York City! Sometimes families wonder why their dancers (who either take multiple classes or have siblings who take classes) are not all in the same show.
All dancers will wear an amazing new costume in the recital! A costume fee (per class) will be charged for the costume in the spring, once plans for Recitals 2021 are finalized. These bags will contain all costuming elements (except items already owned by students as part of their DDF uniform) and will also contain detailed instructions as to how the costume and hair are to be worn.

Our three children all take classes at Downtown Dance Factory dating back to 2014! The studio feels like home to us! We have watched each of our children be supported, challenged and encouraged by the incredible DDF teachers and ultimately gain confidence and blossom! Each year culminates with a fantastic recital which never fails to stun us with the quality of dancing; the dedication, organizational skills and hard work of the staff; and the commitment, energy and palpable love exuding from the tiniest dancers to the superstar veterans on that stage.

We held our 5 year old's birthday party here on a dark rainy Sunday afternoon and you wouldn't have known it looked like midnight outside by the sunshine and warmth inside. The staff were wonderful with the kids (and the grownups). They kept 15 kindergarteners and one 3rd grader totally entertained and DOING CHOREOGRAPHY for a solid 45 minutes. The kids looked thrilled- and we the grownups basically had to do...nothing....The staff is totally on it. They make the party effortless. Strong recommend for kid parties. Easy planning process and correspondence the whole time.

This dance studio is beyond amazing and has honestly changed my daughter’s life. She started late, at 12, and now in her fourth year she dances 10 hours a week. The teachers and owners care so much about the kids. My daughter now has a passion that gives her confidence and joy and keeps her in great shape. DDF is a wonderful community of families. The recitals at the end of the year are so professional that I think they give the kids the sense that they can do anything as long as they work hard and have great teachers. This is a great place for boys and girls. I am so grateful to DDF for everything

My daughter wanted a "Hip Hop" Dance Party for her Birthday. I found Downtown Dance Factory and read about their company, the program offered, including the parties they provided and read some reviews. Going based on that I decided to book her 9th Birthday party there and she LOVED it. I loved how communicative the staff was prior to the day of her party. How informative and clear they were on the process and how the day would go. It is obvious they care about who they are serving --- a very tightly run ship.
