Services
Joseph Passamano attended the prestigious University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. After Dr. Passamano received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, he completed a General Practice Residency at a level one trauma hospital, Denver Health Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Passamano strongly believes in preventive dentistry as the best possible means to maintaining your smile for many years to come. Our dental philosophy focuses on conservative dental procedures and patient education to prevent cavities, gum disease, and enamel wear. Dr. Passamano understands the importance of teaching proper oral health habits to ensure patients have all the best information on maintaining proper oral health.
Dr. Passamano approaches pediatric dentistry with enthusiasm and positive reinforcement. He is known for his comforting bedside manner and conservative treatment planning. Our office strives to make each child feel comfortable at visits. We recommend seeing children as early as one year old. Our goal is to make the 1st visit an positive experience and to ensure strong foundation for a lifetime of healthy teeth.
A dental implant is a titanium screw that acts as an artificial root in the jaw bone to support a replacement tooth, bridge, or denture. During your exam, Dr. Passamano will determine if you are a good candidate for implants. Proper bone level and general good health are important to the success of dental implants.
Crowns are a solution for severely damaged teeth. A crown will act much like a helmet on a football player's head. It will protect the tooth from further damage. This is indicated when tooth structure is compromised due to decay, fracture and/or crack. If a crown is prescribed, the damaged part of the tooth is removed and a build up (filling) is performed to replace the tooth.

Dr. Joe is the best dentist I have ever encountered! I have been going to him for years. He and his team provide the best service. I had past dentists who would force me to get fillings even when it's not needed. I was introduced to Dr. Joe back in 2018 through his Father/Brother Orthodontist practice I was currently receiving treatment from. I was looking for a new Dentist, as it became obvious, the only thing my current "assembly line Dentist" cared about was the extent of my insurance coverage and not the condition of my teeth. Dr. Joe is amazing!! I was elbowed in the tooth and was in a desperate need of finding a dentist at 7:00 PM. While non of the 24/7 listings on the web were open, I drove to Dr. Joe's office and caught him in the parking lot on his way out. He took a look at my tooth and said he couldn't just leave me like this till morning. He asked me to come inside even though his office was closed and all his staff were gone. I've been going to My Dentist Joe for my regular cleanings for years now. Every time, I'm thankful for the clean bill of health and quick no nonsense service. This most recent routine cleaning though was a mixed bag and I don't think I'll be returning.
I first make an appointment and subsequently get several text messages about a $50 cancellation and no show fee. Then another text message about a separate $250 fee if I fail to advise them of a change of insurance or contact info in advance of the appointment. Not a big deal, but a bit odd. I end up sending them my unchanged

Dr. Joe saved me one 4th of July a few years ago.
How? Well. I was eating out with a ton of friends and I cracked my crown off..I legit freaked out. I thought I was going to die. I felt myself starting to panic. Why? Because I HATE(D) the dentist. Soooooo much.
So when a guy at the table, who I didn't even know, said "I know a guy!" I was hesitant, but he said I could text the dentist, which I thought was odd, but also cool, I went for it.
Suprisingly, on 4th of july, he answered my call, himself. He calmed me down (I was seriously panicking) and told me what I should do until

The Passamano family are very skilled dentists. I've been here once for a cleaning and my wife had all her cleanings done by Joe and orthodontic treatment by his brother the couple years we lived in the OC. We felt they were kind and competent. Furthermore, we never had any issues with billing and appointment mix-ups which can be a headache. Highly recommended!

I am a Physician myself. I finished my office early to be at Dr. Passamano office for 3:20 appointment. I was on time. At 3:45 He gave me lots of local anesthetic for a tentative Crown placement. He disappeared, noticed his voice from the next room as he was doing a procedure. I asked oral hygienist where is he, she said he is putting a screw. I was surprised because he gave me anesthesia and started working on a different Patient. I heard him telling the patient to give him a good review. I had an amazing dentist for eight years but after a recent move out of county, I had to find a new one. If you're like me, you'll dig deep into Yelp and insurance reviews to make sure the dentist you choose is one of integrity. ;) Let me save you the time... go with Dr. Passamano! He's honest, kind, gentle, and personable. He actively listens to your concerns and won't advise you to have over the top unnecessary treatment, when all you need is a simple filling. LOVE THIS OFFICE! I don't usually write reviews but this office deserves five stars to their credit. Every one was very accomidating and professional. I am an OC health care professional myself and I demand quality care with personal attention because that is how I treat my clients. I can't recommend trying Dr. Joe strongly enough! Don't fear going to the dentist ever again. I used to be terrified of pain and then adding high bills to that was enough to keep me away. Until I met Dr. Joe. He is so nice and kind and caring and explains everything and lets me decide how much I can handle before he does the work. There are no surprises during or after treatment, and his staff is just as friendly and reassuring as he is. His office is very clean, and runs on time and the communication is very clear. My recent experience with Dr. Joe Passamano was quite easily the most relaxing, quick, and painless visit to the dentist I’ve ever had which was great in light of what I needed done. I had recently chipped several of my front teeth surfing and was dreading the experience of getting tooth restoration or reconstruction done. But as a professional actor, I needed to fix my money-maker and fast. I reached out to Dr. Joe to find out if this was something he could fix and I was able to make an appointment with him much sooner than I had anticipated. This place is in high demand for a reason - service is great, appointments are painless, and you never have that dreaded feeling about going to the dentist. Everyone I've encountered has been really pleasant and Dr. Passamano is really easy going. I really like this location so much that when I went onto my boyfriends dental plan, I had him switch his HMO to PPO so I could continue coming to this place.

One of the most pleasant experiences at the dentist! The front desk staff were very courteous and efficient.
The dental hygienist, Liz was very nice and funny. She did a great job with my cleaning. Unfortunately I didn't have a lot of time (that's a good sign, right?) with Dr. Joe but he was nice and personable during the short time I had with him.
I like this location because it's so close to home for me. I'll be making sure my husband goes here too!

If you're looking for a dentist in Irvine with a Pokestop in the dental chair, look no further!
I came in for an x-ray/cleaning and had a great experience here today.
Pros:
-I got a one-day phone call reminder of my appointment
-Receptionist is super nice (this is a big plus as it is a rarity in dental offices for some reason),
-The girl who did the cleaning was nice and very gentle during the whole process
-Paperwork was nice and short
-Dentist is friendly and treated area for sensitivity
-I was seen within 10 minutes of my appointment
-They are in-network (for me). I called ahead

Look no further... You have found THE dentist. Honestly, Dr Passamano is the best! I rarely take time to write reviews, but I truly feel Dr P deserves one... He is really really amazing. He is not only excellent at what he does, he is also really honest and caring. I've been to so many dentists in my life & I've finally found one that I truly trust. He never tries to upsell and is very straight forward about what his recommendations are and what is needed, now or later, or not at all. His office is clean and has the latest technology, even my husband who's a surgeon is impressed by their radiology
