I've lived at Stratford Hills for 5 years, both on Bolinwood and MLK. These apartments are perfect if you are studying biology or entomology! Between the three units I've stayed at while I was here, I've seen roaches, mice, mold, spiders (once the size of a baseball), and cave crickets (also once the size of a baseball). The front office sometimes has free snacks though!

Management is awesome I seen some poor reviews on the staff but there’s nothing wrong with these individuals. Maintenance is very responsive. I’ve put in multiple work orders and maintenance has responded within a couple of hours. Roaches have been seen but they have a weekly representative spray the premises and spray by request in your home

I lived here my junior and senior year at CH. Rebecca is literally the most wonderful leasing office employee you could ever ask for. She is well-organized, and always stays on top of what's going on in the complex. She does a great job of making sure repairs are done in a timely fashion. The complex is a bit expensive for how dated the apartments are, but honestly the location is great and you're paying to live under a really wonderful leasing office. I miss my time here.

Stratford Hills is the best value you can get in Chapel Hill in terms of apartment size, walking distance to UNC and proximity to the greenway.
I've lived at Stratford Hills for 5 years, and it has been a great place to live. Rebecca and Pam are great people, and everyone on the maintenance team is wonderful, too. I've never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for something to get fixed, communication is always timely. Thanks for everything you do, guys!

I used to hold Stratford Hills in high regard, but since they switched ownership, it's been extraordinarily sub-par.
Management will work with you, and maintenance is responsive, but that's pretty much where the perks stop.
You will be charged higher rent every year, you will have undisclosed fees unless you know to ask about them specifically, and you will feel taken advantage of.
Pests roam unchecked, bugs in the communal washing machines/dryers, roaches and fleas will infiltrate even the clenest-kept apartments, and you will need to pay extra if you want your apartment treated (which did

Stratford was a great college apartment experience. The management office was extremely friendly and considerate of students and were very helpful if an issue arose. The rooms were big compared to other apartments in the area. It is in a convenient location away from the hustle of campus with easy access to the Bolin Creek trails which were amazing. For the price this place is unbeatable!

This place is a pretty great place for the most part. The apartment was clean, spacious, and nice. Mrs. Rebecca and Mr. Josh are fantastic and are very very helpful! The management is absolutely amazing. Neighbors are so nice and respectful. Parking is guaranteed which is probably the best part of living here and it is very close to campus with easy access to MANY places. The management quickly responds to any concerns or issues raised by residents. I had a smooth and great year living here. The gym is very clean as well.

The apartment they have for viewing is NOTHING like their other apartments. We were told there would be overhead lighting and a microwave. Neither provided. (Just a few examples)My car got towed the first day I stayed here. The wifi does not work. The emergency hot line is a joke - you just call to leave your phone number. Our apartment seeps with water everytime it rains (yes we are on the first floor) . Sewage overflowed from the toilets and sink too. There are bugs galore - and sometimes they respond to your complaints - other times not. Management is condescending. When I was trying to get

This review is for the terrible management. My apartment was broken into during my stay at Stratford Hills. I understand that this is not managements fault in any sense, but how they handled the situation was appalling. When my roommate and I tried to approach management about additional security measures, both inside our apartment and outside the building, not only were we rebuffed and told that there was only so much they could do, but the individuals in management were extremely defensive, unsympathetic and unhelpful. My roommate, who discovered the break-in and was understandable shaken up

Did I tell you about the time when my apartment flooded with sewage? I was just telling a coworker this story and realized I had never left a review for them here. I lived in a Stratford Hills apartment 2006-2007 and while we had been promised a ground floor apartment they ended up sticking us in what was pretty much a basement unit -- a steep hill led down from the sidewalk level to our apartment entrance so all you could see out of the windows was the grass a few feet away. This was mildly annoying but the real problem didn't come until right before Thanksgiving. We started seeing small pools
