Art Cafe Of Nyack
Art Cafe is a cozy coffee shop serving delicious organic coffee & fresh cuisine. Inspired by the cafes in Tel Aviv, we've created a mix of traditional Israeli recipes and a few creative flavors. We have a passion for great taste and healthy ingredients. We now serve a variety of wines, beers and Prosecco cocktails.
Services
A cup of coffee is an intimate experience. It is a daily ritual that helps kick-start our day. So why do we rush something that can be enjoyed? Why are we willing to sacrifice taste and freshness of something so integral to our day? We strongly believe that each cup of coffee we make is not only the freshest cup you can get but also the best.
Bright and bustling by day, speakeasy style by night. Art Cafe is now open late night Fridays and Saturdays from 9pm to 12am. After Dark offers a unique atmosphere encouraging you to bring your instrument for impromptu performances. Games are also available including Connect 4, Chess, and more. Enjoy a late night espresso, a delicious dish from our menu, or choose from our list of eclectic beers and wine.

The food in this place is awesome, and decently priced. This would’ve been a 5-star review it it wasn’t for the poorly trained waiting staff who won’t bother to take your order (forget about being checked-on) until you flag them to get their attention. It took them 25 minutes to take our order, and other 35 to serve it. The place wasn’t even half capacity (we got a table right away at an empty corner of the restaurant by the kitchen). We found that our food was waiting at the kitchen counter for at least 10 minutes before being served, and sadly, it wasn’t as warm as we would’ve liked

A woman at the bookstore down the road suggested the Art Cafe, and we were a little hesitant at first bc we are not vegetarian. But we were pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed our lunch.

Everything was fresh, coffee was delicious and hot, and the staff was super friendly. My wife would not stop talking about how delicious her goat cheese toastini was! I ordered a platter that included a little bit of everything. It was great. Both our meals came with a side salad that was simple but really tasty.

Will definitely be going back here when we visit Nyack in the future.

A cute, hip little coffee shop in Nyack that is entirely vegetarian based. Went here for breakfast with my fiance & 2 local friends of Nyack who highly reccomend this location... and they were spot on! They have all virtual menus with a QR code at every table for you to scan for easy, simple menu access.
They all ordered dirty chai lattes (with cool frothed art to compliment the look) and I had a caramel steamer. All were delicious and a great start to our small breakfast which lead into the american breakfast (scrambled eggs, challah french toast w/blueberries & strawberries &

My FAVORITE brunch spot in the area! I recommend that you reserve ahead of time bc wait can get pretty crazy during peak weekend hours. My favorite is their Kahlo Bowl with their rice or quinoa, with some feta crumbles on top. So good. Their malawach is one of a kind as well- go for their eggplant malawach!

The hummus at Art Cafe is so delicious sometimes I will eat a Hummus Special on my own with pita bread. I've tried the ricotta pancakes which are delightful. The flourless chocolate cake is awesome with sweet wine.
I pretty much love everything they have. It's a treat to go there and enjoy food you know will be fantastic each time you try something new.

The chai latte here is the best I've ever had.
I had some pancakes today and they were so creamy, rich and sweet.
The menu is very sophisticated.
I plan on trying the lunch someday in the future.

We got coffee at the window, one caramel latte and a macchiato.
Good quality.
Pricey, but on par for the neighborhood.
Never went indoors, but the outdoor space was inviting and kid friendly.
Stopped after hiking Mount Hook. Couldn't be more convenient.
Parking on street was easy to navigate.
Plan to come back when more shoppes are open to explore the town and enjoy lunch in the cafe.

Excellent food! Service is a little slow.. in true Israeli fashion.. but if you can get on board with that, what you receive in return is pure deliciousness. A unique and CUTE cafe in this old home with all vegetarian offerings. I had a delicious eggplant stuffed malawach that was even better than I imagined (I'm not usually too into "vegetarian food") And they have these chocolate coated cookie balls? I still dont know exactly what they are, but they're delicious! After trying 2 flavors - s'mores and cookie dough, i had to return to the counter to buy one of each of their other flavors! Great

I hate to say it, but, the service is seriously lacking here. Host was disinterested and borderline unfriendly. After sitting down for 15 minutes and not having anyone take my order, we decided to leave.

The table next to us was also losing their patience with the lackluster service, and the place wasn't even that busy.

I was last here about 6 months ago, and service was also lacking in any urgency or hospitality, so this isn't an isolated event. What a shame.

One of a rare gem in Nycak. Wonderful choice of coffee, a special taste of Israel breakfast. Artworks are stylish addition to the 90's ambience with jazz music background. Will be back soon....

The two stars is strictly due to the poor service/awful waitress we had. If the waitress hadn’t been terrible I would give them 5 stars for the food and ambiance. We cut the waitress some slack in the beginning thinking the restaurant was probably short staffed and super busy. Even when tables cleared out she barely paid any attention to us. Later in the evening we asked for a 2nd glass of wine which she didn’t bring. We asked another server as well and still didn’t get it so we gave up and just asked for the check. The waitress brought the check along with the glass of wine (after at least

I love this place! The food is unique and delicious, normally something you need to go into New York City to find. I went on an evening when they had a live jazz band playing outside and it was fun to see the dancers swing dancing to live music. There was even a lesson at the beginning of the evening with a professional dancer from NYC.
Highly recommended it even when there isn’t live music, the food is great!

As a quick getaway to a seashore like area, my wife and I along with our poodle went to Art Cafe for coffee and some pastries. We ordered a cup of Americano and dirty matcha latte, and an order of Fatoot. As expected, they were great!! We sat outdoors and enjoyed the early Fall cool weather. The only issue was insects - bees and mosquitoes. Bees were after our pastry, and mosquitoes were after our legs. It would have been a perfect getaway if it wasn’t for the nuisance part of nature.

Tasty desserts! They have nice basic items as far as desserts go. I visited the restaurant not knowing they were vegetarian/vegan with Israeli inspired cuisine it seemed. Service was also very good! Very friendly and attentive.

Fresh Mediterranean vegan/vegetarian food options. The oat milk latte is amazing! I got the large latte. Has outdoor and indoor seating with a max of 1 hour and 15 minutes. Food wise we ordered the cheese malawach and the mozzarella toastini which came with salad on the side. Both dishes were equally fresh and the cheese with pesto sauce were an amazing combination. What’s cool about Art cafe is that it is by local shops and there’s a park near by with a view of the water. So we were able to take a nice stroll to burn the calories from lunch. Ha :) Thank you Art cafe for your hospitality.

We had very high expectations for this place but it fell short. It started off with the waitress bringing us a cup of Turkish coffee with the coffee spilt over. She apologized for the mess and said she poured too much but ideally that should've been cleaned up. Then the coffee itself tasted weak and watered down. The outside seating is good but the inside seating felt dull and dusty. The place has decent vegan and gluten free options but overall it's not impressive and I'd skip it.

This place is located in such a cute little neighborhood. We came for brunch one day and there was a wait but it was not bad. We were sat outside and we started with two lattes. They were very delicious, but the star of the show is the shakshooka. This dish is so delicious. I wouldn't normally get something like this for breakfast but it is so perfect. I left there and was craving it again so we went back again the next weekend! This place is such a cute spot and I will definitely be back!

Art Cafe is a must every time we're in the area. On a Monday morning, it wasn't too busy and we were immediately seated at a shady outdoor table. The food is always amazing (the goat cheese malawach balances the creamy filling with the flakiest pastry) and the shakshooka was delicious. It's a LOT of food, sharing these two dishes left us very, very full. Service is pretty good, it's mostly young people so sometimes a little slow but very friendly.

Really enjoyed our brunch. Tasty and good size helpings. Friendly and helpful service. Good place for our family with small children to eat. Pro-tip get there early (8:30 - 9:30) or be prepared to wait, + replace the bread/toast with a bagel. My wife loved the Shoshushka. I gladly recommend this place.

Pretty horrible service.
The host wasn't particularly friendly and put at a table by the restroom.
Then we waited and waited to be served while the waiter was busy chatting with another table for 10 minutes (maybe longer: we don't know since we left before he was done chit-chatting).

If you've been meaning to go to Nyack and see what all the fuss is about, this is a great place to start. It's right on the main drag and they have a wonderful selection of homemade confections. Everything is excellent. You have to go often for the opportunity to try everything!
It can be very crowded on the weekend morning. Especially with the bicycle riding crowd.

The food here is worthy of a 5-star rating. I had the malawach, an Israeli flatbread pancake by way of Yemen, stuffed with goat cheese, date honey, and red onions. It was accompanied by a delicious tomato dipping sauce and a salad dressed with a delicious pesto, nuts and sunflower seeds. I'd never seen a malawach before and am glad I tried it. The outdoor patio is lovely and serene, for sure one of the nicest setups in town.

So why not a 5-star rating? Despite the "wheelchair accessible entrance" being selected on the restaurant's Google Maps listing, there is no access to

We visited Nyack on Easter and felt lucky that Art Cafe was open during the holiday. It was super popular and the wait was about 1 hour for a group of 5 people with outdoor seating. The staff told us the wait for indoor dining would be much longer.
The decor was adorable and cozy with vintage furniture and lively ambiance. The options on the menu were in a great variety and we were not familiar with Israeli dishes so we had a difficult time making up our decisions.
The food was overall delicious, especially the Malawach, which was crispy outside with flavorful filling, pretty similar to Chinese

We came here when the restaurant first opened in the morning. It was a much better service than the times I've been here during the day. We were seated very quickly. Lattes are definitely the best! We just ordered a bunch of food to share. I usually get the ricotta pancakes but I've heard so many times how good is the shakshouka so I had to try it! It was very tasty, next time I will definitely get eggplants added in!

If you're in search for a solidly good meal, great service, the cutest outdoor area ever AND you can bring your dog? This place is it. It checks all the boxes and then some.

I called ahead, because there weren't many spots that were open on a Monday, and I wanted to double check the dog policy. The hostess advised that I make a reservation, and I'm glad I did. Even on a Monday, it was quite busy!

We started with the JB's -- which was ridiculously delicious, their goat cheese and the flat bread that came with it was heaven. Then we shared a plate of ricotta pancakes that were

Adorable cafe with a lovely outdoor patio area.
I did not go inside but the building is charming and a converted house, so I can only imagine that it is just as beautiful on the inside.

The service was a bit slow.. a few attempts were needed to flag down the waiter at several points, but they were very friendly and attentive.

The food was amazing! Very fresh, perfect portions, and unique combinations.
