Looking for cooked turkey, classic sides, great desserts, and creative alternative dishes? In the 1920s, a small band of young anthroposophists who ran a vegetarian restaurant near Carnegie Hall bought a farm in Spring Valley, NY, where they could grow biodynamic vegetables and host summer retreats.
What they started lives on in Threefold Cafe, which serves tasty, nutritious, made-from-scratch meals, drinks, and baked goods to locals and visitors to the Threefold community. We offer weekday breakfast and lunch; Wednesday and Friday dinners (with live music on Fridays); take-home and grab-and-go meals, on-site and off-site catering; and food service for conferences large and small.

Such a gem! Stopped in looking for lunch and coffee after an unsuccessful attempt elsewhere. Parking is up by the front near a 20 minutes limit sign. I checked with the restaurant and that's the place to park, no need to worry about the sign while dining.
The spot is a cute and reminds me of the area's charm. I come in after 11:20, so it's a strange period with breakfast wrapping up and lunch starting at 11:30. I asked if I could order from the lunch menu. The server checked and good to go.
I ordered the burger (comes with havarti cheese and bacon) and salad in lieu of chips. I

A waste of time and money. The barista/cashier took too much time with one customer who was being picky about a refill of tea. Then she did not have knowledge of meat substitutes instead of pork. On top of that the sandwich I settled for was disgusting. I will never go there again.
Definitely do not recommend!!!

This is a hidden gem where lots of locals hang out. Great "real food" choices, and most of their menu is made to order, so expect to do a little waiting; this is not McDonalds. Very pleasant atmosphere. My kids love to stop in for a 50-cent homemade cookie now and then. Smartly run, and I applaud how they are bringing real food at a reasonable price to the "I have no time to cook" public.

What a delightful time my family and I had last Friday evening at Threefold Café! We have wanted to come up for a visit and dinner for quite some time, but I think we picked a perfect evening to enjoy a delicious meal, to listen to great music, and to experience the genuinely unique vibe of this restaurant and surrounding community.
Wow, we really packed in some yummy, fresh, deliciousness. From appetizers to desserts, the quality of the food was superb. Believe me, everyone in our party literally devoured their meals from start to finish. We began with the cheese platter and Organic Hummus

I was there Saturday, I don't know if the girl working the counter was new, but the service was horrible, I had to carry 4 boxes and three kids to the pond across the street because they didn't have any plastic bags, she didn't gave me any utensils, napkins or ketchup..I just noticed she charged me extra for the gluten free bread for the sandwiches and didn't mentioned..it was suppose to be a nice lunch with my grandchildren and it was still nice but her service didn't help at all, she needs more training in customer service and the food was decent nothing special ....not

Had an amazing meal with with my wife and kids for Mother's Day. The food was great and the kids finished everything on their plates. The staff were friendly and helpful and even allowed the kids to substitute a few things. My wife had the seared tuna salad and it was probably the best salad she has ever had. Would go back and I highly recommend that you stop by if you're in the area.

The cafe is a secret spot that deserves more attention. Nestled into a white farmhouse building on Hungry Hollow Rd, you'd never notice it if you were driving by. It has been a mainstay for Threefold and Green Meadow families, but is open to the public. The food is amazing with an emphasis on local, organic, and biodynamic ingredients. There's a palpable sense of community. The special brunches are not to be missed. You probably had no idea there was a farm-to-table restaurant in your backyard. Now that you know, go check it out!

Biodynamic food, super expensive and super limited cafe. Nice people at the cafe, but you're best to go off campus if you have a car and get some of that ethnic food a bit out of town. Very nice place and free wifi, they have great tea and coffee, the most conscious ethical food one can buy. Just hope you're rich.
