A FACE COVERING Medical Mask, Cloth Mask or a Scarf / Fabric Covering your nose and mouth is REQIRED to enter the Funeral Home at all times. No More than 25 people at a time will be allowed in the funeral home for any business except to attend a private service.

Ellis D. Jones & Sons, Inc. is a family owned and operated funeral business, founded in 1935 by Ellis D. Jones, Sr. The tradition of respectful family service was continued by Ellis D. Jones, Jr. until 1991. Michael G. Jones, Sr. and his late wife, Nellie Taylor Jones, were the third generation to serve the families of Durham and surrounding areas during their time of bereavement.
Michael has been associated with the family business since he was a youngster growing up in Durham. He is a graduate of Hillside High School class of 1966, he received a BS in Business from North Carolina Central University and a graduate of the Simmons School of Embalming and Mortuary Science in Syracuse, New York.

I just like to state that this is a excellent funeral home and gave us the best home going service for my mother. Coming to the Jones funeral home after we didn’t have such a good experience at the Lea’s funeral home was the best decision we could’ve ever made and Yes! Calling around to find the best place to commemorate my loved one wasn't easy. Hearing the genuine sincerity in the staff here, I knew this was the place. Ms. Nina helped me by explaining the process to me and gave me options. She assisted me with cemetery information and gave me her honest recommendations. They were so understanding and accommodated all of our unexpected changes without hesitation. Ms. Nina was with me throughout the whole process. Their prices were reasonable and they made sure everything ran smoothly. All my calls and questions were responded promptly. This is a family run business

Ellis D. Jones Funeral Home has been servicing my families' bereavement needs te entire eighty years of existence. My most recent experience was in October, 2012 in the passing of my dear, sweet mother. She looked so natural and beautiful to the point that I could not even shed tears. She looked at peace and prepared for her final resting. I will continue to have this wonderful family to service my family when the need arises.
