Such a great salon. Jay was amazing. He gave me suggestions on what would work best for me and he was right. He even said that if in a few days my hair changed he would be make sure he would fix it. Not many salons do that. He stood behind his work and confident. I walked out of the salon extremely happy and felt pretty. He worked his magic. His salon was clean, friendly, organized and not loud.

I needed a haircut very badly and the Google reviews led me to Nicole James. I called at 8:50 a.m. and got an appointment for 9:30 that same morning. Everyone from the receptionist to the stylist was so kind and helpful. My stylist gave me great tips on how to style my hair and the kinds of products to use. It was the most useful conversation I've had about hair care with any stylist. I wish I could get my hair styled at this salon regularly. If only I didn't live in New York!

Perfection!! After moving from Manhattan to Middletown, I knew eventually I’d have to say goodbye to my favorite NYC colorist of many years out of convenience. I chose Nicole James Salon given positive Yelp reviews, and after just one appointment with the owner Jay I was comfortable with the transition. I have dark brown hair and it’s really hard to achieve that perfect cool beige blonde, but after the first visit I knew I found my new colorist (and in my town!). The color that Jay is able to achieve is the best blonde I’ve ever had! My hair is also the healthiest it’s ever been as Jay

Great and talented technicians. It's a shame that 9/10 times I call I get the answering machine (during OPEN hours of operation). I hang up with every intention to call back and sometimes get busy and forget. Then the time I *really* needed to book my appointment is unavailable.
This lack of convenience often has me going to competitors. I have never experienced such reliance on voicemail as I have at this salon. Actually, can't think of any other salon I've received voicemail during operating hours. They do return phone calls, to be clear, but not immediately.
