We used oak mill bakery for our wedding. The quality and taste of the assortment of desserts we ordered was amazing, along with the gluten free cake was delicious!! The communication was easy and responsive, and they always answered all of my questions regarding what they could make gluten free. Delivery was very smooth on the wedding day. I can't wait to return on our one year anniversary!

Being of Polish descent, I was expecting more authenticity. I am sure the custom cakes are good but the pastries I saw and tried were pretty mediocre. The challah was like a soft hot dog bun in consistency. It tasted ok, but I wouldn't get it again. The kolaczky didn't even look right. I guess there are different styles but my mother makes the best! Also, the parking situation is horrible.

This is my go-to bakery for exceptionally delicious, creative, and beautiful cakes. With lots of different people to please, I also pick up individual size cakes and pastries in addition to a cake. My family and guests are always amazed at how great everything tastes. The only challenge is picking a cake from all the great options. I highly recommend Oak Mill for all occasions.

Have ordered all my special occasion cakes from here and never have had an issue. There cakes have always been moist, delicious, and stuffed with cream and fruits etc. The workers there always attentive & explained everything thoroughly when placing an order and the variety of cakes. Their fruit tarts and assorted pastries are delightful as well. Will continue to support the local bakery!

Customer service is horrible and was asking for a refund regarding the cake that was made. I asked single drips on the side and according to the picture that I sent and instead it was done very sloppy for the drip portion. Also I asked for pineapple and strawberry instead I got mostly cake and barely any fruit. On the top I asked for white roses, they give me white roses but they also made the leaves white, usually leaves are suppose to be green. I asked for whip cream on the side of the cake and on top instead they did all hard shell all over the cake which I didn’t want. I paid over $130.00

Great experience at this bakery. I walked in asking for assistance as I wasn’t sure what cake suited my event. I was provided with exceptional customer service and all my questions were answered truthfully and professionally. I selected the cake shown in the pictures for my sister’s wedding anniversary. Colors were different in the catalog but they make it convenient and provide you with the option to make changes as desired. I recommend this bakery for any custom cakes. Their cakes turn out beautiful and they taste delightful.

I went in today for a cake tasting appointment for my wedding this summer. I wanted to try this place since I read some good reviews and it was one of the suggested vendors of Drury Lane. Although this may only be my own experience, the female worker that assisted us today was unaccommodating and curt. If you try this vendor, I only hope that you don't have the same experience that we had. Unfortunately, if you do have the same experience, I highly recommend the Baking Institute in Northbrook, half the price, with a five-star experience.

Horrible experience! I wanted a cake in white and very dark chocolate, and that's what I got! They asked me to file a complaint to receive a refund, but after 25 days they simply told me that I will not receive anything! I paid over $130 for this small cake to have what I want, but I didn't receive what I asked for either a refund. Their manager has no power to fix these issues at all. They just care about money and not the customer. It's not the way it works in this customer oriented world today! They are terrible people who don't care about people's specially in this difficult time...

My husband and I went with Oak Mill for our wedding cake, and we were quite pleased! We chose alternating layers of devil's ganache and lemon/vanilla with fresh strawberry filling, and we will be going back for a little devil's ganache cake on our 1 year anniversary because we enjoyed it so much. It's hard to reconcile all the crummy reviews on here with the great product that we received. We wouldn't have wanted anything different!

Just think about it twice, is it really worthy to enter the place which supposed to sell you some sweet pleasure and ending with buying only frustration? Polish Paczki Day" fat Thursday " after my visit in Oak Mill Bakery in Arlington Hts , I would call disaster and disappointment. So....got a flat tire and walked over to Oak Mill Bakery to wait for roadside assistance. The store normally sells coffee and has seating but for whatever reason the manager said "no coffee" and you cannot sit and wait here. They had just opened. Purchased 2 coffee cakes so it wasn't that. Had just come from church, nicely dressed and we'll mannered. I don't get it. The coffeecakes were dry and the manager was a nasty person so let's skip this place in the future.

There this one blonde there is so rude. She was trying to do crowd control and say only 5 ppl allow and kicked some ppl out that had a 2 year old when there was still clearly 10 ppl in the bakery. When finally the family with the toddler came in, there were still 10 ppl in there.
The dessert and cake taste old and looked like it was there for a couple of days.
I should of known why you guys only have two stars.

Hit or miss depending on what you pick from the case, which I've experienced at other locations too.
I would say about half the items (last time I got 6 treats ranging from cupcakes to mini tarts to cake slices and a kolacky) I paid for were actually fresh. The other items were clearly not made that day and had been sitting sadly in the case for a while. On the last few occasions, whatever flavor of cake slice I chose was definitely staling, so I definitely don't recommend buying cake by the slice.
No wonder all sales are final. I do support buying custom order or pre-order cakes

Kevin and I have visited good from Oak Mill bakery before so there was no question who we'd go to for our wedding cake. They were busy since it was wedding season but the staff was great going over the menu with us when they had various cake testings. After going over our theme, they were great with offering suggestions within our theme and budget. We ended up getting a 3-tier cake with a cake topper I purchased from Etsy; with a heavy cake topper, they supported it great for the hours the cake has to look beautiful in the reception hall. One of the better bakeries in the area. They have a nice selection of breads and pastries. We tried the eclair, Napoleon, doughnut, petit fours, opera cake, and a hedgehog cake. The service we received was excellent and all of my questions were answered well.
The eclair has a nice chocolate topping that was not too thick, the pastry creme was just fine, I wish it had more natural vanilla flavor. The Napoleon was quite good. It had a nice puff pastry, but It left a tiny bit of a film in my mouth (I’m skeptical all butter was used). The coffee petit four was moist and had a good layering of buttercream
