I've worked next door for 3 years and I can't believe I have not yet to write a review for Rosa's Deli. Where do I start? I love Rosa, she and her staff are like family. They are always welcoming since day one. But besides the impeccable service, their food is the BOMB dot com. I mean they load up your sandwiches. Sometimes half a sandwich is all I can eat! I would totally recommend their #6 on a panini, their steak & cheese, and their meatballs, pepperoni & ricotta grinder.

Was just ok nothing special. First time here, place was clean and employees very nice. I ordered a meatball parm sub and was asked if I wanted cheese? I shook my head yes and when I got my sandwich I noticed they put American cheese on it...…Not so good tasting but I guess it was in fact cheese. While call it a parm sandwich if it doesn't include mozzarella cheese? Might not be back again.

This place hasn't changed at all over the years. This is still a super consistent spot to grab Italian deli sandwiches that are so delicious. Stopped in on Monday to grab an eggplant parm sandwich and it did not disappoint! Always love pairing it with a Foxon park soda. The woman at the register was also super nice.

I don't know how anyone could ever say anything bad about Rosa's! Good food, love the staff and I doubt I have ever had anything that was even sub-par. Consistency is the best kind of practice when running a good business and wanting it to last for decade after decade.
I highly recommend this place!

Amazing sub, super soft bread and the meat was cut perfectly. Very clean inside and plenty of different options.

One of my favorite lunch spots in Wallingford. The quality of the ingredients that go in their sandwiches are top notch. Parking is typically tough, as Rte 5 around lunch is a nightmare, but if that is my only complaint, this place is doing everything right.

Late lunch . Wasn't as good as catching an on time crowd for noontime. Quality was ok , but microwaved chicken cutlet is not for me. 1 small chicken breast and mushie broccoli Rabe on a hard roll was anything but pleasant .

Rosa's Deli is a gem. It's the kind of Italian deli that once could be found almost anywhere in New Haven county, but now are almost gone. My first trip was for a broccoli rabe and sausage sub. It was by far the best I've had in the last thirty years. Great!

Rosa's Deli is the only place I go for a sub. My go to sub is the American combo. Rosa's always tastes fresh and has my order ready QUICK. This spot is truly a Wallingford staple.

I've had several sandwiches here and all have been very good. Today I had a chicken parmigiana sub. The bread is the same on all subs and is good. The sauce is tasty with the right amount of tang. The cheese is plentiful and tastes like good quality. My only objection today is the "cutlet" while good was cut up pieces , I prefer whole cutlets and it was microwaved so it made it slightly mushy.
Rosa's is a really good option for a $10 lunch in Wallingford.

Was expecting good things...asked for my sandwich to be on a roll, got a full grinder which I just accepted (was told, it's only a $1 more...Paid $12)

'Chicken cutlet' looked soggy, microwaved.

Bad experience ordering, sandwich made it worse. Sorry...

The picture taken on here obviously was taken for show!!
The worst, and I mean the worst Italian sandwich I have ever had in my Life! Born and raised From Sicilian Family, grew up eating the best of the best Italian food. This is a poor example and a DISGRACE to to ITALIAN people that know what food is supposed to be like!
I call to tell her there is " No meat " on this sandwich I am told there's "16 worth!! Of what lettuce and bread??
Rosa find your way to the deli of where a person from the old country owns it, or one of there children. They will teach you how to make a sandwich

My first time at Rosa's Deli the other day. I picked up a few different sandwiches for my self and a couple friends. Very clean inside and the staff was very attentive. Great menu for sandwiches. A lot of traditional Italian prepared foods as well. My chicken cutlet grinder with provolone & broccoli robe was delicious and packed. (Broccoli Rabe was not bitter BTW) Definitely going to stop here again.

It's okay. I really want to like this place and have given it numerous chances but every time we do get something we are disappointed. It had been a while so we came back today and got the #3 chicken cutlet and the real Italian. Chicken cutlet here isn't crispy, which is a must for me and my husband. Good flavor but not crispy. The real Italian had one slice of each meat. I couldn't even taste it. My daughter got a turkey wrap with just turkey and cheese that looked good. So guess you just have to stick to the basics here.

One of the best delis in town. I haven’t had anything I didn’t like and would highly recommend the specialty sandwiches like the Rosa’s Delight and the #7. Their catering is also top notch and have used them for family parties and picnics with great feedback from guests.

What a disappointment. Ordered a meatball sub. Got a nice long sub roll, but where is the meat. Being a Italian deli I was expecting homemade meatballs. What I got were meatballs the size of golf balls. They taste like the frozen ones that come out of a bag. One bite of bread with sauce, one bite of meat, one bite of bread, one bite of meat. Also very little if any mozzarella on it. Definitely will not be returning.

One of the very best delis around! I am hooked and will go back there for sure! The employees are so kind. To be honest, I prefer the sandwiches here instead of a Subway. The prices are reasonable and the portions are a good size. You are getting to money's worth. Aside from sandwiches, this place offers other food. Snacks are available for purchase, as are beverages.

Visited here for the first time the other day, but my mother has been raving about this place for years. Good selection of meat and cheeses for slicing and sandwich making along with hot dishes, soups and salads. Glass case has a great selection of pasta and other salads, stuffed breads, frozen pastas, and some scrumptious looking sweets and desserts. They also have pignoli nuts!
I opted for a large chef salad to go along with a bowl of chicken and pastina soup. Although I requested Swiss or provolone instead of American cheese, the salad was made with American. I easily replaced it when I got

"Nonnie's Chicken Pastina Soup"
Who would have thought that a soup could bring me back to my childhood. I picked up lunch at Rosa's Deli and it turned out to be way more than just an enjoyable meal.
When I was a kid, one of my favorite things to eat was Nonnie's chicken pastina soup and I felt like she made it for me today.
When the soup was almost ready to add in the pastina, she would pick a part the chicken and put it back into the broth. But she would always set aside the chicken necks for her and I to pick on. I know, I know, you may think that's gross, but it

Great to see all the love on here for this place

I'm honestly touched to see how many other people love this place, because I always have too.

I love going in over the last decades and just feeling great about what I was going to get and where I was.

I do miss the store they used to have, but I understand. It's sad until I reach over for a Foxon Park then I'm alright again.

Some places you simply can taste the ingredient of love added. I have had several things from Rosa's over the years, and every bite has been thoroughly enjoyable because of the love that Rosa's adds into each offering.

Parking is not the issue; it is trying to take a left out of the parking lot in heavy traffic, especially because it is close to the major intersection. The food at Rosa's is worth that traffic battle though!
