So my cake was gorgeous. It was exactly what i asked for. It was just perfect. I even messaged to thank them and let them know just how beautiful it was, but We hadn’t cut and ate any yet. My daughter didn’t want to share that cake because she had another she shared at the party. We got home late so next day we cut the cake passed it out amongst family and not one of us wanted another bite. The cake was hard and some parts rubbery. So disappointed! Things are getting very expensive and with that everyone is looking for quality. I didn't want to be the bad guy but neither of us thought the cake

I live in Houston and my twin sister and I wanted to celebrate our 21st birthday in LA, so I was looking for bakeries and came up on this one. I was a little nervous since I was ordering a cake from somewhere on the other side of the country, but they did an amazing job on our cake! I was shocked by how great it looked! They made it exactly how we wanted it and it looked way better than I imagined it would look. The only thing I would say they could've improved on a little bit more was the communication, but other than that, this is the place to get your cake from!

2 stars because at least I got the credit they promised me. Had placed an order in April for a cake but canceled due to a death, no cash refunds only store credit. Now I had to find something to use it for. Had a baby shower in October finally got the chance to use it. Just wanted to use all of it on cupcakes, got 40 cupcakes for $135. whatever, fine. Half chocolate, half vanilla. Sent them a picture of the theme, was hoping they would work their creative magic with the colors. They asked me if I wanted to put an edible picture of the theme on the cupcakes I said sure why not. Was expecting a cupcake

As I said in my previous comment I order the macaroons a day before and I did tell you in diff colors I recall through our conversation before, you said you can make them and have them available all the time for the Macaroons.
And you just admitted being so busy that day. So obviously you where rushing for my cake and macaroons and how busy you are everyday. Just how you told me that my cake would come in layers and I can set it up at home and that wasn't the case. I had to pay you 60 dollars to deliver.
Trust me I would never buy from you again and never recommend

My daughter loves rainbows and unicorns. So, for her 7th Birthday, her mother decided to try a place we had not been to before and get some ideas. The sales representatives were very helpful and patient while they tried to draw the ideas that were being given to them. After all the ideas were on paper, the representative double checked with the chef and set the expectation of what we would receive. The result was an on-time pick up with a cake that made our 7 year old super excited. The flavors and freshness (not to dry and not to moist) were a party in your mouth...delicious. Thanks for

I called Marissa's Cake on a Thursday evening, whom ever answered was so professional, I was literally all over the place because I didn't know exactly what I wanted, so she gave me a mobile number so that I can send pictures of what I was looking for. Considering it was last minute I was very hesitant in sending her a few options, but there was absolutely no problem, she said she can fulfill my order by Sunday morning and she was even able to make two dozen cupcakes.

I placed an ordered a month a head of time. Recommend by family and friends, the reason for the 3 stars is because the way they communicate is horrible, they need to be more organized and write down notes on each cake. Cakes tasted good, maybe be a bit more friendly as these hard times a lot of businesses have closed and Marissa’s Cake should appreciate and value each customer. (I had requested Feliz Cumpleaños Jakey” per my order I guess they didn’t care much to check. (No need to reply)

Downey has a lot of gems, and this is one of their hidden ones tucked away in a shopping plaza. Marissa's has a large variety of different desserts and bakery items. We grabbed their Peruvian inspired small bites for our office, everyone that has tried them falls in love with them. They aren't too sweet and pair well with a cup of coffee. They mainly specialize in cakes for birthdays, weddings, and quinceaneras. If you're looking for something local and delicious make sure to visit Marissa's Cake, their dulce de leche is amazing!

Cake did not look like what I requested which I probably should have expected since it's pretty cheap compare to the other cake shops ($160 for a tall 6"). When it came to flavor it wasn't good either. Good thing we had backup cake that my sister bake and that was my guests had finished. Bought 2 dozen cup cakes too and my family and I thought a walmart cup cakes would have tasted better. I'm giving 3 stars for good customer service. They were able to accommodate me in short notice considering that day was also Easter.

I needed a cake last minute and I emailed asking if it was possible to not only order one, but 2 cakes with Paw Patrol theme and she instantly emailed back and we arranged everything within email communication, they are fast reliable. The cakes were beautiful but taste even better! Most delicious cake! We had the marble with barbarian cream! We always have leftover cake and I wish we had more!! I'm so glad I found my new cake place!

I had Ms. Marissa make my gender reveal cake. I was happy with the final product as it came out just like I wanted it. The flavor was also pretty good (strawberry). I also contact her in bit of a time crunch and she was able to accommodate which was great. I've had other family members order from her and they've liked their cakes as well. Overall I would definitely recommend Ms Marissa for cakes in Downey.

So I was cake shopping and this was one of the cheapest places I found. I looked at the pictures and the cakes looked great and reviews were good so went ahead with my order. When I picked it up I was amazed that they replicated the pic I sent,it look great. It had a smudge on the number and they fixed it. Once I was driving home the number broke,it really didn't bother me because I had a number candle I was gonna replace it with. So when it was time to eat the cake it was so dry and flavorless!! I swear I had Walmart cupcakes that day too and they actually tasted better. I was embarrassed
