Seed Montessori is an after school classroom where kids grades K-5 come for lessons in our fun, safe, kid-centered environment. Seed after school is hands on! Located at 500 Madison Street in Oak Park, IL, Seed after school has paints, plants, cardboard, scissors, fossils and a really good time! Seed after school offers transportation from D97 schools and is within walking distance of many Oak Park schools and homes.
We are open every school day from school dismissal time until 6pm, Meaningful lessons and projects are a part of every day and families can tailor schedules to fit their own needs. Excitement is our most important tool; the way we teach feels more like fun than learning. Lessons are targeted at the imagination and children have choices.

Services
Instead of being forced into lessons, seed works with your child to make learning enjoyable. Most lessons are given individually or in small groups. Instruction is designed with an understanding of your child's interests and state of development. The activity at seed appeals to your child's natural human tendencies.
Any attempt to encapsulate Montessori's pedagogy in a few short paragraphs would be folly. Afterall, here is a person who in 1897 was the first woman to graduate from the medical school in Rome. How to condense for the casual reader the work of a person who studied physics and mathematics, engineering, medicine, pediatrics, psychology and ethics?
At seed, we want to know what you know about your child. We want to hear from you about academic history, strengths and challenges, interests and habits. We look to the family and to the community to partner with us in working for your child's success. We at seed want to establish lasting relationships for deep learning that render results for a lifetime.
Leave the school year behind as we get out and active, exploring the wonders of the landscape that we take for granted. See the prehistoric changes that gave us the landscape we'll hike! Kid adventurers experience our geological history through field trips, exploration, games, and experiments. Sweet Friday Funday with movie and sweet treats.
When the bell rings at the end of the school day, head for the seed van where your friends are waiting for you and there is so much more to do and know!. Our goal is a great and productive afternoon until Mom or Dad come to pick kids up after work and find them smiling and smarter!
The seed gang stops to rip and run in the fresh air before we come back in to eat our snacks and get busy with whatever suits us best: art projects, lessons, games-seed has it all.There is no other program like seed. We have been tremendously impressed with Seed – both as an after school program and as a summer camp. Our daughter started the after school program in kindergarten. From the day we visited, we knew it was the right place for our family. Not only does it provide a welcoming, inclusive environment, but the programming is enriching and has served as a significantly positive complement to our daughter’s school curriculum.
