Services
First established in 1955, Harand Camp's unique method of teaching has helped countless alumni develop poise and confidence. Harand began as a Chicago children's studio founded by sisters Sulie & Pearl Harand. Pearl, a former member of the Chicago Repertory Theatre, taught drama, while Sulie, known for her incomparable one-woman interpretations of classic musicals, taught voice.
It is our goal for ALL campers to develop skills in the performing arts AND build self-confidence & self-esteem. We welcome all levels of experience and do not require auditions for admission. In preparation for final performances, campers take daily classes in singing, dancing & acting. Occasional rehearsals are held in the evening (alternating with other activities).
While Harand Camp offers an intensive and immersive arts program, we have also been able to set ourselves apart by adhering to a philosophy of inclusion and a non-competitive spirit. We place a premium on social development and uphold the ideals of "No Man is an Island" in everything we do - from camp & cabin unity to our theater program -.
Scholarships: Full and Partial Scholarships are available through the Harand Camp Scholarship Fund. The HCSF offers a sliding scale of aid to low- and middle-income families. We accept Checks (payable to Harand Camp of the Theatre Arts), Visa & Mastercard. A 2% service charge will be applied to all credit card payments after the initial $500 deposit.

I went to Harand Camp for 9 years and absolutely loved it. At the time I attended the camp, it was the best thing in my life. As an adult, it is still one of the best things that ever happened to me. It gave me joy, confidence and best friends. Little did I know my own children would find that exact same amazing experience 25 years later. Whether they are into theater or not, the experience of being on stage in front of people, conquering your fears, learning to sing and dance while being in a safe environment is invaluable. In addition to theater, there are plenty of opportunities to do
