Kids Clay Room
At our kids pottery studio, we teach children how to make ceramic pieces from wet clay and clay tools. Handbuilding students use molds, coils, slabs and underglazes to transform clay into fun and unique ceramic pieces. Wheelthrowing students are taught to use the potters wheel to make bowls, cups and more.

Completed pieces are be ready for pick up in approximately 3 weeks. At this time, our studio is open to children ages 5 and up. If you would like to be updated on kids pottery class schedules and other activities at our studio, please join our email list.

Participants work with wet clay, clay tools, molds and underglazes to make and paint a clay project. Email for details. Wheelthrowing is a skill that requires practice and repetition. Our private wheelthrowing class is designed to give you an introduction to using the potters wheel and is primarily for the experience.
Wheelthrowing: Please note that wheelthrowing is a skill that requires practice. Working on the wheel during parties is mainly for the experience. Wheelthrown pieces cannot be painted at the party, so children will be given 3 glaze options to pick from. Our instructor will glaze the pieces for them.
Please have your child wear something you don't mind them getting clay or glaze on. Everything does wash off so this is not necessary. We will not be providing smocks for our activities at this time. We have reduced our class size to allow for some distancing among the kids and instructor. Siblings will be able to sit closer together.

Thanks to Shruti at Kids Clay Room for a fun 7th birthday party for my child. Shruti was really easy and accommodating, even when I changed the date of the party. She was also able to engage 10 first graders for a 90 minute, somewhat complicated art project. The space is cute and there was plenty of time (but not too much time) for snacks and cake. Thank you!

Since it is the same address as The Paintbrush art studio, I though my daughter should be creative with pottery clay. Before class started, she kept saying, "this is going to be fun!"

She wore a smock and prepared to work with the clay. The pieces are perfect imperfections and obvious a 6 year old created those pieces. I can't wait to pick up these pieces within 2 weeks.

Rather than just painting ceramics, which is still fun, she has the opportunity to mold clay into shapes and paint them! $55 for a spring break class and a DIY keepsake treasure or two. Suitable for 5 years

My kiddo had so much fun here on a day off school. It's not just painting - they actually get to shape and create their own project, paint it etc. she had a blast! Will definitely check this out for a bday party option.

Stopped by here for a drop in class and ended up getting a nearly private lesson for the two boys. They were having SO much fun and the instructor was so patient and kind. They do an art project of their choosing and also learn about slip, scoring the clay etc. we will be back and may even have my sons birthday party there. It's super unique and cute and I prefer it over the paint a pre-done pottery place. So much fun.

Just wrapped up my son's 8th birthday party at Kids' Clay Room. Everyone had a great time! We had kids arriving late and siblings jumping in to do projects, and the instructor, Chris, was flexible and cheerfully ready to roll with it. The kids are all excited about their projects. During the party, I was able to use the studio's front room to have my own mini-party with the parents, and then the kids had pizza and cake there after cleaning up from the clay project.

We have also enjoyed a few "day camps" when schools are closed at the Kids' Clay Room, and the events

Had my daughter's 3rd birthday here. The owners were wonderful and so accommodating. All the kids (and their parents) had a wonderful time creating their own pieces and painting them. After the hour long project, we went into the bright front room for pizza and cupcakes. It was very reasonably priced and the kids got amazing fired and glazed keepsakes a few weeks later.
